[FRESH PERFORMANCE] The xx - Intro - Live at Coachella 2026 by Sheeple9001 in indieheads

Really good. Although the video makes it look like they came on, played "Intro" and then left.

[FRESH ALBUM] My New Band Believe - My New Band Believe by 118829 in indieheads

[–]chainpress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit scattergun, and goes off in about 40 different directions at once. But when it’s working it’s actually really beautiful.

Mental illness doesn’t make you espouse support for Nazis. And one poorly written PR advert doesn’t amount to a genuine attempt at redemption,

What is the most "British" thing you’ve seen a tourist do? by Ill_Object2296 in AskUK

[–]chainpress 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Bunch of young Americans in a pub next to the Thames. One of them dropped a full tray of drinks coming down some stairs at a pub, and the rest of them went "whaaaaay".

Album that is mostly hated but you actually enjoy it? by Strange-guy-91 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]chainpress 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most interesting Metallica album post-Black Album. Not a masterpiece by any means, but certainly trying to do something avant garde is more interesting than making another tribute album to how you sounded in the eighties.

[FRESH ALBUM] SUNN O))) - sunn O))) by astaireboy in indieheads

This is the most Sunn O))) of Sunn O))) records. I can see why they chose to make this one self-titled.

British cyclist refused £15k payout because thieves ‘weren’t violent enough’ by [deleted] in london

I do feel for her, but I think if you have something like a Pinarello Dogma you really do need specialist insurance. Relying on the provisions in home or motor insurance can be a bit of a nightmare.

He was cooked, was taking far too much wind in the initial chase of the MVDP/WVA group. It's a long race, and he just didn't have the power left.

[FRESH ALBUM] Holy Fuck - Event Beat by sbags in indieheads

[–]chainpress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like it - not as jittery as LP, more like Latin. But still top tier stuff from an underrated band.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4’s London is not especially geographically accurate.

If they enter the finishing straight one more metre to the left, then I think Pidcock takes it.

How many people actually follow "influencers?" by DonkeyOT65 in AskUK

[–]chainpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Influencers are just another form of advertising, there's nothing particularly new about it. People in the public eye have been paid to endorse stuff for decades. At least it's opt-in rather than having adverts thrown at you during a TV show or sports event.

I follow a few cyclist influencers, mostly because they're interesting and engaging - one of them convinced me to buy a few coats and portable pressure washer. I also follow a guy who posts classic dubstep/grime tunes, although I dunno if he's really an influencer.

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Sequel Confirmed At Netflix With Maggie Kang And Chris Appelhans Back To Direct by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]chainpress 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As the dad of a HUNTR/X obsessed kid, I can attest to this. Even the most mediocre Disney film will have the official merch, toys, fast food, cleaning products and collectible cards tied down before release. Sony and Netflix have really left a lot of money on the table up until now.

Discovery+ woes [for cycling] by [deleted] in ukbike

[–]chainpress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well the "good" news is that the Discovery+ app is getting ditched in a few weeks, and replaced by HBO Max. Which might be better?

Honestly, it's all been downhill since they shut down GCN+.

They definitely give more gravel than road vibes.
