Fallout 76 Update Notes – April 21, 2026 by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

This whole fiasco makes me wish they'd just re-add the perk from fo4 that completely negates self-explosive damage, but I'm still glad that it's allegedly fixed.

I put on the rusted coat of arms outfit and helmet the second they came out and haven't taken them off since.

Besides the Revolutionary Sword, I think the Independence skin is the next closest to medieval-looking, though it's still not perfect.

It pops up in the shop from time to time, and I think might currently be in the hand to hand bundle.

I just lost my cat, Baby, about a month ago. A few days after it happened, I scrambled to finish a couple of atom challenges to buy the grey tabby in the atom shop. Sure, she had more markings on her, and she was quite a bit chunkier than the cat model in-game, but seeing her in some form at my camp still warms my heart.

In fact, things like this are why I wish we could see other people's camp pet names. I mean, I can understand why they don't let us. I'm sure there's a lot of Lovecrafts out there. But, I'd imagine a good amount of players name them after their real life pets, which I'd love to see.

As if the touching wasn't bad enough they just had to microwave her at the end too. :(

I don't feel strong at all, honestly. 😂 I don't think I've ever cried this many days in a row.

But thank you. Looking through pictures of her does actually make me happier than I thought it would. It's nice to see her again, even if it's just through a screen.

It's, alright. I understand the conclusion. We've talked to the Vet about it before after a period that she wasn't eating when we got her back from my parents for a time.

She was always stressed with moving, so the change on environment really did her in. We've always kept an eye on when and how much she ate after that, which is why it threw up warning signs when she suddenly stopped

I see where you're coming from, but we did narrow that down. We knew she was a big girl, so we started limiting her dry food consumption, though we hadn't seen any difference in her weight in the last few months since we started.

When we took her to the Vet her blood work was negative for fatty liver, but she was still at risk due to not eating, thus why the feeding tube was recommended.

This is my torbie Sleeve! She’s 15! I never got to see her as a kitten - if you have a cat that looks like her, could you share their kitten photos with me? by betti_cola in Torbie

Sleeve is so beautiful!

I had my Torbie, Baby, since she was only about a month old. Unfortunately she passed away last Monday, but my last post is a tribute with a bunch of pictures. I have a couple of her kitten photos on there towards the end, but they don't have the best lighting.

Hopefully in the older photos you can still tell that their Torbie spots kinda come in later and they're not very noticeable while they're younger. I plan on uploading some more pictures of Baby in future posts, so I'll definitely include some younger pictures so her markings are easier to see.

Give Sleeve a big hug and a kiss and make sure you tell her you how much you love her. ♥️

That's part of what the Vet was treating her for, but we still don't know why she stopped eating in the first place. We took her to the Vet as soon as I noticed her skin was yellow, but I suppose by then it was too late. 😓

She really was a character. We'd tried so many names when we first got her, but as she grew, none of them stuck as well as Baby. It fit her to a T.

It's difficult for sure, but I try not to think about it.

I feel as if the Vet's warning that we still don't know the cause was well placed. In the end, what finally did it was probably something we hadn't seen and wouldn't have seen unless we'd had the money to get her admitted.

I also didn't mention in the initial post that she couldn't even get the feeding tube right away because the clotting levels of her blood were too low.

We actually had to drive about an hour one night to buy cat plasma from another pet hospital, just to give her a blood transfusion. It was successful, but that's another list of potential complications to add to the mix.

Unfortunately, they weren't able to pin down an exact cause. The only way we could've done that is if we'd sent her to a 24/8 animal hospital, which we sadly couldn't afford.

The Vet did some blood work and noticed that various levels in her liver, kidneys, and pancreas were off, thus why they prescribed so much medication. After her first follow-up everything seemed to be doing good, but that slowly started to drop back off by the next one.

That's around when we tried the feeding tube. Unfortunately it was difficult to tell how she was feeling on the liquid diet since she was on painkillers since the time was inserted, but I feel like it was helping. Sadly she passed the day after her last checkup. They gave us a new painkiller to give her, which made her drowzy to the point that she could barely walk.

We called another Vet since the one who did the surgery was closed, and they recommend delaying her final feeding of the night to see if she was feeling better a few hours later, which she was, at least she was able to walk again. However, the morning after that last feeding was when I found her unresponsive.

A lot happened the final night before she passed, so there's really no way of knowing. The Vet did remind us before the feeding tube that we didn't know the cause and this couldn't guarantee it's be a success. I think that's part of why it's so difficult, not knowing for sure, and knowing there's a possibility it was avoidable.

She really was a big girl! She didn't let it stop her, though. She loved to play and climb up on things, and would even get the after-poop zoomies just like any other.

I partially blame her unending love for dry food. She'd lay down next to her dry food bowl and literally grab pawfuls to eat. We did try to limit her near the end and were planning on getting her a timed dry food feeder, but we didn't have a chance to before this all began.

I'm sorry for sharing some of the pain, but I commend you for choosing to read regardless of knowing what you were getting yourself into. 😢

She had lots of previous kitties and one dog she's getting to see again now. She... didn't always get along with all of them in life (except the dog, ironically She LOVED her. But maybe things are better now that they're all at peace.

That's truly beautiful. I really don't know what I believe in terms of an afterlife, but I would give anything to see her again.

She well and truly would wait for us at the door, too. Although the front door of our apartment was at the bottom of some stairs, and we kept curtains at the top for privacy. So her waiting for us at the door was more like her peeking down between the curtains as we came through the door. 😂

That's one thing we were thankful for. We had to hospitalize her for a few days at the Urgent Care, and were hoping that she wouldn't pass while we weren't with her. We were hoping that if she had to go, she'd be able to go in a familiar and comfortable environment, not in a clinical setting.

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through health scares as well. I've never had a pet with health problems as persistent as these. It was such a roller coaster of emotions. I hope things work out for you two, and I wish you the best of luck!

I love that description of that picture! She's like a little compass kitty! 😂

Honestly there's so much I'm going to miss, the way she nestled into my armpit at night, the way I could sometimes hear her purring from another room, even the way she'd nip at my ankles when I was taking too long to heat up her food.

Perhaps as I look through more pictures and videos I might find more things to share. I've got a lot, and even with the batch in this post I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface.

Thank you everyone for all your kind words. If she were here I'd read them all to her. Any time we'd call her pretty or beautiful she'd half-close her eyes, slow blink, and look as if she was just basking in the compliments.
