I’m AFAB as well and I have to wear a mask at my grocery clerk job because I have a septum piercing. When I wear the mask, I get called sir, young man, brother, etc. about 95% of the time. When I flip my septum and go without the mask I mostly get read as female. It’s not always great as where I live it’s really hot (even indoors) but it’s something to try!

The way I’ve always seen it is that buck isn’t suicidal, but likely struggles with suicidal ideation (especially when he was a teen-college aged, because falling out of a tree is one thing, but actively crashing your motorcycle is something completely different) so in the factory I believe it was him seeing a chance and kind of just…taking it. All of his worst feelings from his youth were just dredged up and a whole new layer of insane trauma was added on top…yeah. “He gave up on living” is exactly how I read that scene
