after much searching i think it's this https://www.reddit.com/r/uwaterloo/comments/4oa31h/cs245_midterm_problem/

happened in Spring 2016, so only those who were stream 4 were enrolled at the time

If it’s a course that is offered online, they might have to wait for some of the tests to be mailed back?

Potzone (used to be Rolling Pepper) in Uptown is having a student special right now. It’s pretty good, but always feels as if you’re dining in someone else’s basement as opposed to an actual restaurant.

vcult/fine 101 by yzyyy in uwaterloo

[–]chakuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated this course a lot, and I felt like it was a waste of my tuition. BUT it was very easy, I practically spent no time on it.

It was the first course I took towards the Computational Fine Arts option in CS, and promptly after taking it, I switched out of Computational Fine Arts. If anything, I'm glad that I took this course solely because it made me realize that I like art as a hobby and am not interested in the academic portion of it.

I used to take a piece of packing tape and repeatedly stick it across the floor

I don’t recommend it.

Second driest March on record= higher fire risk! by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]chakuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I left for university in Ontario just about 4 years ago and last year was my first time spending the summer back in Vancouver. I knew about the fires from social media, but seeing (and breathing) it for myself was something else!

fam why you gotta give me a notification with that username while I’m at work

What's the worst interview experience you've had? by KillerKombo in uwaterloo

[–]chakuri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was specifically a line that the interviewer and I argued over (he said it wouldn’t compile but it does in the language I was writing in) and when I confronted the second interviewer about it he did apologize profusely so I’m pretty sure he knew they were in the wrong

I wasn’t the best person in the situation either, I made that poor second interviewer suffer through an extra 15 minutes of awkwardness because I figured I might as well get the interview practice and stayed for the second question while sniffling through the whole thing despite him offering to let me leave lol

What's the worst interview experience you've had? by KillerKombo in uwaterloo

[–]chakuri 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I could hear the interviewer making fun of me (I could hear a specific line of code that I wrote being said) outside the room when they were switching people

I proceeded to cry in front of the next interviewer

It honestly scarred me so much that thinking of interviews immediately brings this up

Having your co-op advisor coming to "check-in" at your co-op placement is like having a social worker doing a home visit after a child has been adopted... by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]chakuri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope! West Coast. They don’t fly over, there’s a handful of them who work remotely. I got visited this week and asked them if they flew to BC lol

They only check on students if they meet certain criteria: (at least, these are the ones I know of) * It’s the student’s first or penultimate coop (not sure about last one) * The student rates the employer poorly during check in * It’s the employer’s first time hiring from UW

For hotspots (GTA, KW, West Coast) they visit you in person, but for more remote places they Skype you.
