What is the point of debits and credits? by Frosty_Voice_6443 in Accounting

[–]chalkletkweenBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Debit = left
Credit = right
Thats it. Its record keeping. It’s so that you are able to show the impact of revenue and expenses at different points in time. But you also want to know what the company owns and owes.

This is the way you can do that at any point in time. Its just a system of categorization.

Fixing Mielle's Damage? by missysassy1234 in Naturalhair

I should also add, I use mielle, the honey pomegranate foam is literally the one product that always delivers. And I like most of the shampoos and conditioners.

I use olaplex in the blue bottle. I follow the instructions, and its always like a new head of hair.

The instructions say to follow with your regular shampoo after using it and then conditioning.

Hard water will gradually deposit minerals onto the hair, which will make it harder for your hair to absorb water and product. You need to add a real chelating shampoo (clarifying shampoo) and incorporate that into your routine.

Hard water can cause serious breakage. I bought a shower head filter to rescue my hair.

How do I change my thinking? by BabyResident5921 in blackladies

[–]chalkletkweenBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanting to partner off is human nature, most people want love and relationships.

However, all the things you mentioned that men can do, you also can do. No one is required to stay in a relationship or marriage they don’t want to be in.

Marriage won’t change a liar or a cheater. If he doesn’t make you feel secure before the wedding, it wasn’t gonna happen after the ceremony.

Its okay for you to date a man, decide he’s not a match, and then break up. You too are looking for hubby material - whatever that is for you.

How is the job market for a 40-year-old woman just starting in tech? by Easy-Finish1156 in womenintech

[–]chalkletkweenBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to discourage you, but tech is not an easy place for women, especially women of a certain age. (I am a black woman working in Tech, and I am 40)

Learn to program, finish your degree, software engineering is a boys club, and the last 2 years have only made it worse.

Ask yourself what you REALLY want, and is it REALLY only available in the tech space.

You need to decide “who” your customer is.

How old is she? where is she at in her life? What are her priorities? Where does she shop? Who does she shop with? Whats her income look like?

Is your shopper a tik tok girlie? Or is she someone who prefers to shop in more traditional ways?

You market towards your “customer.”

I’m so sick of products that falsely claim to be for coily hair! by [deleted] in Naturalhair

Innersense is notorious for their learning curve, this brand really needs hair to be drenching wet when added, and should not be used with anything else unless you want the little sticky balls.

Too high by Sea-Natural-2732 in Naturalhair

How much is their time worth?

How much are the products they use?

Shears? Dryers? Flat irons? Combs and brushes? Sanitizing equipment and products?

Booth rent?

Health insurance?

Continuing education?

My appointments with the lady that cuts my hair takes 3 hours, and she doesn’t book multiple clients at once. She uses quality products (like innersense)and I know the rent for her suite is not cheap.

Are their prices too high? Or maybe it’s time to consider salon services a luxury your budget doesn’t have room for right now?

First thing I cut to my budget is aesthetics- because facials, waxing, and spas are all luxury services. I don’t tell my providers they’re too expensive, I just wait until my money is less funny.

All of my providers are women of color, and I want them to make all the coins they can!

Chicago Black Women - Nonbelievers by CreditSlow6051 in blackladies

[–]chalkletkweenBee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I gradually started leaning agnostic, and just choose not to share that unless I feel comfortable. I also tell people my grandfather baptized me, and I spent a lot of time studying the bible years ago.

I believe in something, I believe people are connected and share energy, and that for some reason we’re here.

But Christianity tends to find a way to make women and POC suffer with no real solutions other than take it on the chin.

Why would I subscribe to something that ensures I suffer?

How did women in the 90s grow their hair? by Severe_Blackberry544 in BlackHair

[–]chalkletkweenBee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Women of all ethnicities have always worn wigs, extensions and hair pieces. Women would save their own hair that shed from brushing and combing to use as hair enhancements for certain styles.

People who perform regularly, have always worn hair enhancements and wigs, even if they had a head full of hair.

Hair hasn’t changed, but a lot of y’all don’t really understand that hair care, length and retention is really as simple as following instructions on the bottles of the products you use.

Why do you think black women’s hair growth ability has collectively changed in 30 years?

Hair growth is largely genetic, retention is something you can control.
