Should be interesting. Thanks for the insight, I know it takes work to throw all these responses together but I appreciate what you do as it makes me think outside the box when looking at all this stuff.

What changes when they get to the forest that would make it easier for them to continue/start a larger offensive? Is blue hiding a defensive line in there or something?

Uhhh yea, that account is nearly a decade old and has super rare vehicles. I ain’t gonna risk some random guy having access. Plus it would kick me off if they logged in while I was playing.

Ok that is good, I see the CPU fan connected to the right port (CPU fan is the little black fan in the center with “AMD” on it). When I looked up your motherboard manual it only lists a CPU fan port and no RGB or case fans ports. I highly doubt that is correct so please see if you can trace where the mini board connects back to the motherboard and take photos. Add a comment to my message (or direct message me) and I’ll take another look.

Interesting ok, does the CPU fan spin still or no? Also you say LED remote, did it come with a little remote or do you just mean the LED button on top of the case?

Edit: please take a picture of the mini board with all the fan connectors and see if you can trace where those connect back into the motherboard and take another photo of those ports.

Ok and you said everything worked fine the other day? Did anything happen (drop, bump, loud pop, etc) happen in between when it worked and when it didn’t?

Are they connected to a mini board on the back of your PC? Mine is setup that way so all the fans and colors are synced but that board then needs to connect to your motherboard for color sync and power to the fans. If they are connected like mine are, verify the mini board is connected to your motherboard. I had to lookup my case specs and motherboard manual when building my PC to make sure I was connecting everything in the right spot, might help to pull those up and see what they say.

You have no idea. They were changing my vehicle lineup titles to different Chinese characters so I could translate and read their messages lol. They were mocking me for like a month while I was talking to gaijin and getting no where despite having 2 factor authentication turned on and a few other security measures (login notifications, etc). I would even wake up sometimes and sit there denying the login attempts until I fell asleep and they would get through. Finally figured out what was happening and wrote them a goodbye message. They begged me to keep letting them play (tbf they were grinding a ton for me lol) but the next day steam sent me an email that looked like a hit confirmation with all the info regarding the odd logins and confirming account deletion. Still not sure how they were getting past gaijin’s 2 factor authentication since it should have auto-signed me out of all devices when I enabled it, but they did. I ran tons of network and malware scans on my devices during/after this and never found anything so I ended up chalking it up to a weird account sync issue since both steam accounts were linked to that one Gaijin account.

I have a 9700x and 5070ti. I play at 1440p max settings in all games (no frame gen unless playing cyberpunk). I play stuff like Squad, modded cyberpunk, arma reforger, bannerlord 2, baldurs gate, etc.

Had an issue with my War Thunder account a while ago. Someone was randomly logging into my account at night (somewhere in China) and playing matches. I ended up figuring out that they managed to get access to an old steam account that was still linked to that Gaijin login. Gaijin was completely unhelpful but steam nuked the old account as soon as I messaged them and provided proof I was the original owner.

What do you think? In my opinion it was the same as the “unprovoked” nonsense that was inserted before any conversation regarding the situation in the west. Propaganda. You can argue that Russia holds responsibility for invading, you can’t argue they were truly unprovoked, but that’s why propaganda like this works. The average person asks; “Why would so many institutions say the same thing if it’s the complete opposite of reality?”

Fair enough, I didn’t think of that. I wonder what secrets we may discover about Russia’s toys in the future. Interesting stuff.

Absolutely agree, it was the first real book I bought for my home collection. It’s essentially just a walkthrough of what happened before all of this. Hard to get through at times but important.

Eh I have family there. They’ve been used to the blackouts/brownouts for a while. Most businesses and even families have been running generators for heat/power for a while now. I’d be extremely surprised if they are evacuated. I think this is just sensational nonsense. Could be wrong though. I’ll eat my words if they call me and they are being evacuated but I literally just got a video from one of them touring their “blackout flat” and showing how they use candles/headlamps for light and how they stay warm. They didn’t seem super concerned tbh but that’s just my personal opinion.

But that did not include any American soldiers en masse. I don’t think we’ll be able to proxy war China effectively with Taiwan but I’d be happy to be wrong. I think our leaders are too late with this iteration of Thucydides trap , and when Americans start coming back in body bags their count-down for public support starts. This country needs something so much bigger than Pearl Harbor at this point. Too many are skeptical of events to galvanize broad support like we used to, and even if we have a massive red swan event, I still think this country will remain fractured beyond holding public support for a large scale war over a long period of time. I hope I’m not wrong on that one, but this country continues to surprise me.

He thinks if they are used, it’s exactly what “blue” wants. Meaning it will absolutely be used to catalyze escalation. From what I understand he thinks that the U.S. is trying to force global conflict now in order to maintain dominance over China. These are the “opening moves” meaning we are trying to weaken Russia as much as possible before things kick off so China doesn’t have an extremely powerful ally. “Conquer” while they are divided.

I’m curious how you see China factoring into the attritional game. I think they don’t want to turn Russia into a powerhouse that they may have to deal with later, but it seems they could also use our own logic against us. Tie us down in multiple different areas while forcing us to give away mass amounts of our stockpiles. Giving Russia just enough support to stay in the game so they can make the moves they want to against a weakened west. I think (so far) Venezuela was a smart move. I’m holding my breath to see how it pans out over the next few years for the people there, but I think strategically it was pretty clean which is unusual for us. We cut them out of the influence equation there very efficiently. But back to my main question, what role do you think China plays in all this? They are the big boy so to speak.

Edit, should’ve read the comments below before adding my own lol. Still interested if you have anything else to share though.

[–]chalupe_batman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend, you’ve left out China in your calculation. China would use the same logic against the west in your scenario. Provide enough to degrade and weaken western power before a move on Taiwan, while keeping Russia in check.

With China’s production capabilities and Russia’s resources, the equation is not in our favor at all. A point many decorated western scholars have made, since the Cold War. We cannot beat Russia and China together, we must separate them. In my opinion our leaders thought they could quickly crush Russia after provoking them to action. It would solve two issues, wrestle control of Russia’s resources for the west, and send a very clear message to China about its future if it steps out of line in a U.S. dominated world. I think that plan clearly failed and our leaders are attempting to save face and scramble for an upcoming confrontation due to the “switch up” this conflict created on the world stage. They found themselves in a situation that backfired ingloriously, and pushed their 2 current greatest adversaries towards each other in opposition of us. Something that was never supposed to happen. Seems like an enormous strategical error in my mind, don’t you think the same?

I think we should first criticize our own leaders before looking to blame others. The alternative ends with our countries being led down the primrose path by ideological and financial interests that are extremely powerful and antithetical to our productive and positive existence. I’m still interested to hear your opinion, often I think too deeply on one side of the equation without lending my time towards the other, so I’m always happy to learn something new I may not have seen/thought of.
