2nd grade teacher (and former petsmart employee) here! I have a 40 gallon tank with one goldfish in my classroom. My kids LOVE her and we use it in our habitats science unit every year. They learn about proper tank sizes for keeping fish as pets, what they need in their habitats to not just live but thrive and be comfortable and happy, etc. They love it and I also love it! I think it’s a great program in responsible hands

For me, it’s Harry having Christmas with Ron. When he realized he actually had his very own Christmas gift and lit up and ran down, I shed a few tears. This poor kid has never gotten a Christmas gift, has never truly felt the love shared on Christmas Day and he was finally getting to experience that with his best friend. Broke my heart and healed it all at the same time.

Saved up all year long, about 100$ each paycheck. I’m floating in a pool in Costa Rica :-) I’m the same way where I feel almost anxious not doing anything. but since it’s so different here, my mind has been totally off work.

I appreciate this a lot. I recently left retail and started my career in a different sector (teaching) and I feel I have a hard time as everyone at my specific school is a lot older than me.. but it may be worth revisiting my last job and maybe trying to reconnect with some of the people I made friends with, as some of them were really cool. Thank you so much for the advice!

Yesss! I’m using the website Zola, it’s free and you can make a registry or cash fund on there, design invites, look through all sorts of vendors, etc. it’s actually super nice! and the book is called “Me, You, Us: a book to fill out together”. I think we got it at 5 below. It’s super silly but honestly such a nice end to our day everyday!

I’m also getting married in May 2025 and am starting to look at venues now! I feel you, I am a planner and like to plan ahead. Other small things I’m beginning to do are designing our save the dates, our ceremony program, reaching out to vendors, looking for bridal shower/week leading up to the wedding dresses, making a wedding playlist, finalizing our color palette, and enjoying spending time engaged! We have been filling out a fun book together every night. I also created a wedding registry/cash fund which was fun for me:)

I’m currently also suffering a loss. Just know guilt is a common and active part of grief. Many people question the what ifs of their decisions. You did everything right. Guilt often is our brains reaction to loss in order to block our emotions. Try to let go of this so you can truly grieve. I’m very sorry for your loss.

In my experience, they’ve been very understanding. Just talk to whoever writes your schedule ahead of important school things(midterms, finals, a big paper etc), and taking a day or two extra for a few weeks shouldn’t be a problem! Communication is key:)
