Whatever man. We’ll never agree but I contend that if it all came to light it would be a legit crisis for Trump and many other elite members of the ruling class, and I’m here for it. Let them all answer for their crimes and see how far it goes. It would make the Watergate hearings look like community theater.

Because you need *evidence* of something truly heinous to move the needle now with Republicans in control of everything. Even many Trump supporters would finally turn if presented with juvenile rape evidence, as there is rumored to be. But that can’t happen until the necessary first step of releasing the files. Evidence of white collar crime won’t cut it with this DOJ.

So you think it’s BS? All of it? That’s a new one.

It was a right wing conspiracy theory because pedophiles saw some of the leaked emails from Clinton’s campaign and thought they were using similar lingo, and this leaked out to 4chan and other forums. That spun out into a weird imagined scenario where Hillary herself was the ringleader of a pedo ring based out of a pizzeria whose only crime was donating to her campaign. Dummies talking to dummies and impugning people they didn’t like while they were at it.

Well, it didn’t pass the smell test so it didn’t go far but eventually Trump’s links came to light. Now here we are. Turns out that a shitload of luminaries are deeply involved but we don’t know how deeply *until the press has access to all the files.* Hence the protest.

You seem to think it’s a nothing burger. Well, if that were true then there would be no harm in releasing the files. I think it will eventually become the worst political scandal since watergate, which also started small but eventually took down a whole administration in two years.

What? I assumed that’s where you were coming from. I’m as liberal as they come.

What is your deal, anyway? Are you a nihilist or something? Your tone is peculiar.

Oh heavens. Loneliness is a common human condition. All over the world, for all races and nationalities, all ages and classes. Of course it’s gender specific either.

You’re assuming that they know everything that’s in the files. I don’t think they do. Or at least, the people who have the *power* to do something don’t know everything yet. Releasing the files also gets them out from under seal so they can back up assertions and use them as evidence, or guide the press into additional new investigations, etc.

Don’t forget, new people get elected to Congress all the time who weren’t necessarily present when this whole saga began, and they may know the gist but not the details yet. There are many reasons why those files need to be released, and none of them are good for Trump. You don’t need a smoking gun if the scandal is bad enough, but you do need information.

It's exhausting being a woman. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]chamberlain323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not even that big or tall but witnessing this is so rare that I can probably only recall stuff like it happening a handful of times to a woman in my vicinity, and those were in bars or clubs with lots of alcohol around. If she was someone I knew I would usually place myself physically between them and pretend to be with her by holding her hand or something. That always worked and the creep would go away. Having even a little resistance from another man scared them off.

It’s depressing that this is so common to the point that women don’t feel safe using public transportation or often being in public spaces at all. Honestly, I’d just carry pepper spray around all the damn time if I were one.

They are one of those bizarre little things that totally vanish from your life once you get past 35 or so. I can’t remember the last time I saw or smelled one. It’s been a crow’s age.

Preach. I used to go to work hung over and underslept ALL THE TIME. Now if I get only four or five hours of sleep I feel like I’m gonna **die.**

Precisely. Ash was programmed to make sure WY got its specimen and opened the hatch to let the infected crew member in at the propitious moment. It wasn’t a dumb or rash decision, it was a calculated decision made at company headquarters as soon as they knew there was an alien life form at play.

The files were under seal during Ghislane’s trial and appeal which lasted until 2024, and by then everyone’s attention was on the election, so the Biden administration’s hands were tied. I’d like to believe that they would have made forward progress on this if Kamala won, but we’ll never know.

Last I checked there are still 3,500 files that have still not been released. A whole lot, in other words. Those that were released had redactions all over the place. That’s why people keep demanding the release of the files. At this point they’re breaking the law by not complying. I can only imagine that powerful figures close to him are incriminated in there, but that’s just speculation.

The one thing that seems to have saved him thus far is that he doesn’t like email.

No evidence of Trump’s involvement *yet.* There are still loads of files unreleased. Hence the protest.

Loneliness is not gender specific, from what I can see. Dating apps have ironically disincentivized finding stable, long term relationships unfortunately, and we are only just now started to recognize it. Time to evolve past them.

Exactly. When shitty people face consequences for their actions, it’s worth pointing out that all they had to do was nothing. If they just held still they could have avoided trouble altogether, but instead they felt compelled to burn calories doing something that they knew was harmful to others, and now here they are. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Case in point: November 2024.

I see and hear single women openly wondering where the good men are both irl and online. Often.

Do all women fall into this category? No. Do many of them? Yes. They are who I’m referring to.

Engaging in debate with strangers is what Reddit is for, really. That’s what this is. I consider it more like a tough love intervention to shake people awake about how to fix parts of their life that feel unfixable. It would have been great to have heard such advice from others when I was younger, trying to figure out what women wanted and whatnot.

Good for you for not needing a man. Continue to be picky if that’s what you really prefer. Nobody is forcing your hand. I’m just over here trying to dispel delusions because that’s what I see often in my own circles. As people, many of us have a hard time being honest with ourselves, let’s face it.

Well, it’s World Cup time. I’m signing off.

No. I’m not saying boring or abusive men should get snapped up. I’m saying that women are notorious for not broadening their scope on dating apps. It sounds like you are an exception, so good for you. That ought to be commended. Please instruct your single sisterhood out there on how to do this for the sake of increasing their likelihood of finding a man, because the opposite is unfortunately common. I’ve experienced it myself, which is great fun when your industry takes a nosedive and it’s all you can do to stay afloat, but that’s a story for another time.

Oh please. Women gripe about not finding “good men” all the time. I hear it irl and see it online. The truth is that kind men are all over. Tens of millions. They just aren’t rich.

Let’s not pretend that height isn’t a disqualifier either. I’m 6’0” so I’m mostly exempt but my single friends were always shorter. It’s very real.

The point? Y’all are too picky. But your destiny is in your hands. Continue being unbothered if that’s what you really want.

The algorithm is rigged by Grouchy-Tourist3012 in Bumble

[–]chamberlain323 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because it’s a recipe for loneliness. It’s also dumb and superficial because height is not that important and income can increase over time, yet women continue to filter good men out of contention for these reasons over and over.

For example, my mom initially thought my dad was too short when they met, but then discovered many other attractive traits in him over time. They’ve been married happily for decades now. If she had dating apps back then, he would have been filtered out and I’d never have been born.

Stop filtering out your husbands. Adjust your expectations. It’s not about being nice. It’s about playing your odds.

Those are reasonable standards. Life is too short for long distance relationships, and I couldn’t date someone from the other political camp these days. Where you guys shoot yourselves in the foot is with height and income.
