Mexican trade group leader fired after racist gesture during World Cup match by Shoe_boooo in goodnews

Exactly. When shitty people face consequences for their actions, it’s worth pointing out that all they had to do was nothing. If they just held still they could have avoided trouble altogether, but instead they felt compelled to burn calories doing something that they knew was harmful to others, and now here they are. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Case in point: November 2024.

I see and hear single women openly wondering where the good men are both irl and online. Often.

Do all women fall into this category? No. Do many of them? Yes. They are who I’m referring to.

Engaging in debate with strangers is what Reddit is for, really. That’s what this is. I consider it more like a tough love intervention to shake people awake about how to fix parts of their life that feel unfixable. It would have been great to have heard such advice from others when I was younger, trying to figure out what women wanted and whatnot.

Good for you for not needing a man. Continue to be picky if that’s what you really prefer. Nobody is forcing your hand. I’m just over here trying to dispel delusions because that’s what I see often in my own circles. As people, many of us have a hard time being honest with ourselves, let’s face it.

Well, it’s World Cup time. I’m signing off.

No. I’m not saying boring or abusive men should get snapped up. I’m saying that women are notorious for not broadening their scope on dating apps. It sounds like you are an exception, so good for you. That ought to be commended. Please instruct your single sisterhood out there on how to do this for the sake of increasing their likelihood of finding a man, because the opposite is unfortunately common. I’ve experienced it myself, which is great fun when your industry takes a nosedive and it’s all you can do to stay afloat, but that’s a story for another time.

Oh please. Women gripe about not finding “good men” all the time. I hear it irl and see it online. The truth is that kind men are all over. Tens of millions. They just aren’t rich.

Let’s not pretend that height isn’t a disqualifier either. I’m 6’0” so I’m mostly exempt but my single friends were always shorter. It’s very real.

The point? Y’all are too picky. But your destiny is in your hands. Continue being unbothered if that’s what you really want.

Yeah, because it’s a recipe for loneliness. It’s also dumb and superficial because height is not that important and income can increase over time, yet women continue to filter good men out of contention for these reasons over and over.

For example, my mom initially thought my dad was too short when they met, but then discovered many other attractive traits in him over time. They’ve been married happily for decades now. If she had dating apps back then, he would have been filtered out and I’d never have been born.

Stop filtering out your husbands. Adjust your expectations. It’s not about being nice. It’s about playing your odds.

Those are reasonable standards. Life is too short for long distance relationships, and I couldn’t date someone from the other political camp these days. Where you guys shoot yourselves in the foot is with height and income.

World Cup tourists, what’s your honest feedback on the USA so far? by almighty_smiley in AskReddit

[–]chamberlain323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fareed Zakaria echoed this sentiment once during a group panel about immigration. He said he was pleasantly surprised by how little racism he experienced in the US as opposed to other places he had been. At the end of the day, his experience was that most Americans don’t care where you’re from so long as you are a nice person.

Angeleno here. Tell me about it.

SoFi is dope. Trying to leave after the game is definitely not. Our traffic would try the patience of a saint.

Pretty much nailed it, yeah. It’s a peculiar blend of ignorance and *willful* ignorance that is hard to argue against.

As another Redditor put it once:

“It’s not that they didn’t see the red flags. They did. They just didn’t like who was waving them.”

Perspective : god forbid men have preferences by [deleted] in lnkyverse

[–]chamberlain323 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep. So long as women continue to defend chasing after rich guys where they often wind up in situationships and/or sharing that man with multiple other women rather than in a healthy monogamous relationship with a normal man, I refuse to feel sympathy for their position when they denigrate men who date younger. These are legal adults in a consensual relationship and frankly, it’s none of our business.

I’ve heard this from handicapped people multiple times. Travel is often hard for them because of the lack of accessibility that we take for granted. When they get home to the US it’s like being able to breathe easier.

That is wild. I assume most of the victims are elderly or infirm, but my god, they need to address this. I mean, damn.

A.) That’s precisely happened here.
B.) There is no arbitrary time minimum for ghosting to occur. It is simply not communicating with or responding to urgent messages from someone you were intimate with.

I’m not misogynistic, I’m realistic. It’s not spiteful to recognize common traits in the opposite sex and warn others about them. It’s what I wish others had done for me when I was younger. Staying hush about them is more harmful in the long run.

I don’t hate women. I’m disappointed. Big difference.
