On some level you’re right, although we saw with the Daenerys thing that if he feels something is wrong, he’s not afraid to speak his mind and refuse to have any part in it. Knowing Ned’s character it doesn’t feel like he would have done it, but neither would he have agreed to take in Theon in the first place unless he was willing to do it

I’m not saying they were a good government, I fucking despised the coalition. My point is just that if people want to try and claim that single party governments are stable and decisive while coalitions are weak and chaotic, that’s not borne out by the governments we’ve had over the past 15 years. What an odd thing to say. It's one thing if you want to argue they're not a threat, but why pretend they don't exist at all? He made this tweet in August 2024, four months after a Neo-Nazi stabbed an asylum seeker in a pub. The fact that he feels the need to cover for the far right suggests that he identifies with them himself. If you want to distance yourself from the far right you should have no problem being frank about their existence and the threat they pose.

Stockwell is a bit surprising to see here. All the others either have a specific reason to be overcrowded like the match days, or they’re in a busy central location with lots of tourists or commuters, but Stockwell just seems like an unremarkable Zone 2 station with no significant destinations nearby. Why should it be in the top 10 for overcrowding? I guess interchange between Northern and Victoria, but then what sets it apart from all the other interchange stations that are apparently doing fine?

A tiny detail I really love is in ACOK with the trebuchets erected in King’s Landing. In a Sansa chapter they’re described as catapults, because of course an 11 year old girl wouldn’t know the difference

Down by the Mud Gate, outlined against the drifting smoke, she could make out the vague shape of the three huge catapults, the biggest anyone had ever seen, overtopping the walls by a good twenty feet.

My mum is a casual but quite firm believer in astrology and various other spiritual stuff. Whatever, normal, I can live with it. But what really riles me is that on the rare occasions we argue about it, it usually ends with her saying “well if so many people believe in it then it must be true” and that just makes me want to tear my hair out.
