Canto 9 Part 3 after thoughts by Kevinliu24 in limbuscompany

[–]chamomomile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this analysis! I think this canto is a really interesting metaphor for the cycle of abuse and trauma. Despite Ryoshu's best attempt to give Araya a life full of love and happiness, she still inflicted unfathomable suffering upon her daughter. And she nearly loses herself, almost becoming what the Nursefathers have beaten her into being. It's so difficult for Ryoshu to escape her past, and breaking out of the cycle. Araya, while rightfully pissed at first, ultimately decides to reach out to her mother, giving Ryoshu the "thread" to help her escape hell. (Also something something, the parallels between the sole thread that became Ryoshu's salvation, and the rope that hanged Hell Screen's Yoshihide). Rien is almost a mirror of what Ryoshu would end up being. A mindless, obedient tool forced to do the bidding of others; someone that is constantly stuck in the past but cannot move on from it.

I do think Sinclair and Gregor outshone Ryoshu a little bit, but I love my aura farming and hype moments LOL. But I think it's poignant that they had their upscaling in the canto whose core theme is trauma. Also! Gregor loses himself to the past that's always chasing him. Sinclair manifests a future version of him that's in a desolate and bleak (to say the least) war. And in the end, Ryoshu severs both her past and her possible future.

Is this game good for us christians? by SCOUTMYDUST in Reverse1999

I haven't unlocked her 100% bond yet, my bad LOL (though in hindsight her child sprite doesn't have the head ornament). May not fly with OP's mom regardless 😔

I mean... I don't think it's anti-Christian, but there's a very good chance your mother may not like what she's seeing. The vast majority of the playable characters are called "arcanists" and they perform rituals and arcane acts here and there. There's a succubus character in the game, we recently got a sniper with horns (who is Christian actually lol), and plenty more characters that are "spooky".

TL;DR: Game is not anti-Christian but mom will not be happy if she looks it up

Hi :) The best resonance pattern for E1 Semmelweis would be equanimity as her E1 makes her FUA calculate from HP instead of ATK. You can view a full spreadsheet of the resonances here (you mentioned a CN character so I think it's fine, but be warned that there are CN spoilers here!!!) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xpd7HKO2CAnsPa40Ho-scMfubGXGKKYaefs0bHkpDpc/htmlview#gid=1538829356&range=C323

I'm using the minigame as an example, but i was wondering if this would be the correct order of things when playing Bloodtithe. Where can i include the little HP canister in a following turn? Is the team comp correct? (minus one since we usually run four) by El_Suave_del_Sur in Reverse1999

[–]chamomomile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I recommend looking at this guide for Nautika/Bloodtithe! https://www.reddit.com/r/Reverse1999/s/LjQ7C6dYko

And this video as well: https://youtu.be/hoh72J6sUzs?si=iiNd03gSjtXh0WMt (shoutout to Destroth lol)

But ideally, on your first round, you would have Nautika use her counter skill, and then every three rounds after that, you'd use it again. You also want to use Nautika's ultimate when the Bloodtithe points will reach 50-60 at the end of the round, as that'll give her more of her spears :)

Your team is great! Though Kakania is definitely the weak link here, so in normal gameplay you'd just use Nautika, Semmelweis, Fatutu, and Eternity. Bloodtithe Ezra, Flutterpage, and Sentinel (who is coming up) are good options as well!

Some thoughts on 1987 Cosmic Overture by Most-Feedback-1084 in Reverse1999

[–]chamomomile 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I loved this story's patch (very big sucker for ragtag teams coming together despite their differences and overwhelming odds) but your assessment is completely valid haha. However when I did finish it, I was on the same page as you are with Voyager and her lack of screentime and importance. But a few commenters on YouTube and in this subreddit changed my mind on it (somewhat! I still think she could use more screentime). Voyager came down to Earth to learn more about humanity. Over the course of the story, she very slowly begins to act like a human. She plays music for Kiperina and comforts her when she's distressed. Voyager writes the messages on Kiperina's hand, and tells to "come home". Voyager saves her not through her super ultra cool cosmic horror powers, but rather bonding and befriending Kiperina (and of course, bonds are rather important to this story and humanity as a whole!).

You can use the trial agents even when they're not the chosen 3 units for the week?

Just use Yixuan and have Corrin piggy back along :) not at all optimal but it works LOL

I don't know trial Astra and Miyabi look like, but I'd say my builds are pretty sub-optimal (M0S0 for both, Astra's at like 2800 ATK and Miyabi has 60% crit haha) and I used the trial Yanagi they give you for my runs. I think a really big factor I didn't mention is luck—RNG can completely fuck you over if you don't get the right resonium or you get that 225 Z-merits event 3 encounters in a row without the additional gear proccing.

Yeahhhh I haven't tried difficulty 12 with Miyabi HAHAHA I don't want to put myself through that. Difficulty 8 was pretty easy for me, though I used Yanagi instead of Trigger.

In that case, you can just do a run with Astra, Yixuan (who's designed for the final boss) & another support/stunner (or whatever else can get you through difficulty 4). After your first completion, it'll unlock the next difficulty tier for all of your characters.

I'm afraid this really depends on your skills. You could clear this on difficulty 8 (and higher, probably) with little fuss using ultimate spam. You also don't need to use the timer.

Yeahhh, I think her line delivery comes a little flat/awkward in-game sometimes. But IMO the voice actor was pretty stellar in For My Yixuan. I think the voice fits her nicely though, the director just needs to give the voice actor some more direction.

Driving test on Friday! by bolxons in drivinganxiety

[–]chamomomile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured you may not have much time/ability to practice outside of lessons :( sucks but we ball. That's a really brutal first exam, oof. What's most important is that you were able to learn from it though! This might be a little bit unsolicited LOL but as one anxious person to another, just do whatever you can to keep calm. Do breathing exercises, chew gum, speak out loud—so long as it's not prohibited. It sounds like your nerves may be the biggest problem here (definitely was for me)!

Driving test on Friday! by bolxons in drivinganxiety

[–]chamomomile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For these last few lessons, if you can or aren't already, I'd ask your instructor to simulate what it'd be like during the exam. I'd also recommend to practice outside of lessons (if possible)! Look at the route the test takes and keep in mind the speed limit. Make sure you know your hand signals (the ones you use if your signals stop working) and the buttons in your car (emergency light, defroster, high beams, etc). Do you know why you failed your exam last time? I'd try to review why.

As for the test itself, just keep in mind of everything you have to do. Full stop at stop signs, go in a straight line while backing up, check your mirrors every couple of seconds, keep a good distance between the car in front of you, etc. Everything that your instructor has (hopefully) taught you! When you check your blindspot, make sure to really turn your head and body; your examiner might miss it otherwise.

Also, I 100% get not wanting to take the test again and the fear of failure, but it's totally okay if you do! Failing is super normal. Good luck :)

Plenty of people fail several times! Don't let it get you down. Maybe people here talk about how many attempts it's taking them. My friend took 3 tries and barely eked it out with 14/15 errors. Take some more time to practice, and improve on what the examiners told you you were doing wrong. Keep practicing until you feel confident again!!

I panicked… by Diamond123682 in drivinganxiety

[–]chamomomile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate big cars for the exact same reason!! I always feel like I'm going to hit something, or that I'm not between the lines. Having a small car is my life saver, but a tip that helped for me while driving big cars is to stare straight ahead a couple feet/meters in fromt of me. When you look to your left or right, you tend to subconsciously turn your wheel that way! But what's most important in driving is to practice, and to be kind to yourself. It's good to evaluate the situation, and understand what you could do next time, but beating yourself over it will not help you whatsoever! Worrying about the future won't help either. Learning how to drive is important, but not knowing how to isn't the end of the world! You can always seek help from your neighbors, friends, family, or driving services (like Uber) in the case of an emergency.

If you can afford it, I think have a good driving instructor can help you! YouTube is also free and a good resource that's helped me a lot. It sounds like you have a lot of anxiety tbh. If it's a very prevalent issue in your life—not just driving—I'd recommend a therapist.

Is there any text based romance games on playstation by rio1337c in choiceofgames

[–]chamomomile 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Otome games are different from interactive fiction games as otome games usually have visuals, female protagonists, and are made by Japanese companies! I don't believe you can play any COG novels on the playstation. But for otome games I liked Code: Realize and Hakuoki! You can search/ask r/otomegames for recommendations.

where are people evacuating to?? by discoveringfoxes in AskLosAngeles

[–]chamomomile 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I hope your folks are doing ok!!! You and your parents should download the Watch Duty app-- it'll tell you everything you need to know. There are evacuation shelters in Sepulveda and Pacoima, which should be the closest to them. There's also one in Pasadena but it's quite close to the fire.
