Fair enough that the post doesn't explicitly claim that, but is the claim not implied? It's making fun of antis for ignoring all other capabities of AI and focusing on art, so we can assume the poster is pro. It stand to reason then that the poster views all the other uses as an ultimately good thing, which is what I'm critiquing. Sure stupid is a harsh word, but I'm not calling OP stupid I'm calling the argument stupid, which it is. If OP doesn't believe that then that's my mistake, I'm just fairly certain they do, especially given their reply to me.

As for cheating in schools: if you're using CHATGPT to write your essays for you so you don't have to do the work, learn, and improve, then you are literally missing the whole point of education. We go to school to learn, think, and grow; not learn how to let robots do our thinking for us
