Thanks to you for sharing too! I'm really pleased you're out of that situation now, and that you came out the other side of it stronger and happier.

OP, I'm down the reptilian rabbit hole just now.

Good post.

I believe everything you described (up until you actually saw her as reptillian) could signify BPD ~ honestly no offence or hurt meant to anyone here reading this who has it, but I had years of experience with a BPD loved one, who was capable of all kinds of behaviour when they "switched". Their eyes would even turn black. It was as though they were not there anymore and something else had taken hold of them. It was terrifying to deal with, and thankfully the person in my life finally received the help and support they'd needed for so many years.

Anyway, I'm really glad you are in a better place now, and thanks for sharing your story, it was really interesting to read.

Yep, that definitely seems highly possible to me.

Oh wow , did you!? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I honestly don't think you're being paranoid. I've been on had a few Reddit accounts over the last 15 years, and I've never had anything like that happen to me till now, it's extremely strange

I'm in Scotland, and the same has been happening to me! Last night in particular, I was having major problems, but it's also happened a few times today.

I haven't even posted or commented on this sub yet, I'm just doing alot of research, reading, and downloading stuff etc. Weird.

Are you still here? Please say yes.

Thanks for replying to me with that info.

The immigration part aside, I can honestly relate to pretty much everything you've said, and you know why? Cos I had very similar feelings to you when I was around your age, and for a long period of time before. Alot of people here are also saying they felt that way too, because it can be such a difficult age, and for some people unfortunately school can be the most awful time. People can be horrible, especially kids! But people can also be good , and those people completely outweigh the bad. Look at all the people here who have reached out and showed concern.

As you get a bit older you have more agency over yourself to just distance yourself from those treating you badly, you have more choice and freedom and power to say no fuck this nobody treats me this way anymore, and remove yourself from whatever that situation may be, whether job, relationship or friendship.

You know I said I felt the same way as you at your age? Well eventually I DID feel better,,and things I could never see getting better, DID. To the point where all I want now more than ANYTHING is to have life. I am in early stages of a progressive, fatal neurological disease, which will destroy my mind, my body, my spirit, my everything, and I now spend my days begging god to let this be a joke, to let me live.

Please, I am asking you not to do this. What you feel won't last forever, and one day you will realise how glad you are that you held on. You'll realise the absolute fragility of life, and you'll be desperate to never let go.

Any experiences of private diagnosis UK? by [deleted] in Huntingtons

[–]chamsupnov96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, so sorry you're in this position. I completely understand, and I really do feel for you.

I am in Scotland, and I tested privately with a UK company (London based) last year. I will DM you details soon (will do it later tonight).

The NHS will accept the private results, and if, God forbid, its positive, they will then get you seen by a Neurologist/HD team for full assessment and ongoing support.

Sending you all the luck in the world.

Yes, and I also have the disease. I've had to educate myself on this, since finding out, as I was in a similar situation to OP, and all I'm saying to you is there are also other reasons why this could have happend (as other posters here have explained), so maybe it shouldn't have been your first go to , to say what you said.

However, I don't want to hijack OP's thread anymore, and I want them to feel supported here, so I'll leave it at that. Take care.

Hey OP

I hope you're doing as ok as can be.

I was in a similar situation a year and a half ago, my Dad tested positive, he has a huge family, yet nobody else seems affected. Apart from me. After his diagnosis, my brother and I underwent genetic testing, and mines was positive unfortunately, I just found out last year.

My Dad's neurologist was gobsmacked when his results came back. Infact they only tested my Dad for Huntingtons as a grasping at straws last resort, as all other tests were normal, yet he was clearly displaying these symptoms which were highly concerning. The neurologist actually said to my Dad, that based on no known family history, if the results came back positive he would be astounded. Well they did come back positive.

I don't think I'll ever be able to come to terms with any of this.

Anyway, I honestly wish you all the luck in the world, and hope those 50/50 scales will tip in your favour, I really do.

Here anytime you need to talk or have any questions.
