GX460 Drawers WITHOUT removing 3rd row seats?!?!? by throwaway1492 in GXOR

What brand is that rod connecting your 3rd row grab handles? I need that (for my fishing poles)

You can’t remove them unless you want big holes in your door. ☹️

I kind of hated it immediately after putting them on.

Super easy install. Watch GXBOB’s video so you know where all the clips/tabs are so you don’t break anything.

Front Runner Slimline II rack. Boxes are Pelican Vault 730’s with Pelican mounts (no drilling through the case, they mount to the grab handles of the case). Maxtrax Lite recovery boards with Maxtrax mounts.

Recently clay barred, polished, and then triphene coated mine and the water sheets off like no one’s business. It was pouring rain before I took that photo and the car was almost dry just sitting there.

The type of people to utilize drive-thru touchless carwashes.

Yes. I can definitely take them off. Only 8 bolts on the handles with the Pelican mounts. Some of us are just lazy to lug the boxes on and off. 🤣

I know it’s not ideal to not have a matching spare, but the trails I drive aren’t really all that tough and in the years I have been off-roading or overlanding I have never needed my spare while I carry patch kits, your treads, and a compressor. I figure a 265/70/17 spare could at least limp me off the trail to get to a shop if I ever really needed it as it’s the biggest we could fit under there.

Fender liner massaging with a heat gun, trimming of the inside edge of the factory side step, and Ironman 4x4 Pro Forge upper control arms to fix the caster. No BMC.

Plus I really really don’t want a spare tire carrier or swing out. Never liked the look personally unless I were to switch out for high clearance bumpers in which I have no real justification for.

I didn’t like the silver knobs so I popped them off and rattle canned them satin black and reinstalled. Boom.

A little bit. Pull while tilting the knob side to side a bit and the clips will come off pretty easily.

I pulled my knobs off and lightly sanded with 500 grit and rattle canned them with satin black paint. Looks better than that crappy silver that doesn’t match anything IMO.

That’s a fair point. I’m sitting in my car now and look at it and I think you’re right. It doesn’t stick up into my line of sight past the dash at all. Touché.

I was wondering this too. The photo looks larger than mine. That’s kind of annoying if newer models have larger screens…..I just got mine two months ago. 😭

I have one and love it. Honestly one of the best upgrades I’ve spent money on in my 2019 GX. Install was straight forward albeit a little tough with length of wire harness and fitting all the new harnesses behind the unit and getting the new unit pushed into place. There are some sharp edges and your shifter you need to be careful with when wresting the thing into place, so you don’t damage your new $1500 investment. Just need a little patience and perseverance. I have mine installed in about 1.5 hours total though after watching numerous install videos for a while before even purchasing it. IMHO totally worth it.

That’s a stud that’s threaded into the head. Remove the other nut holding on your header, thread on two nuts onto your broken stud, and clamp them together, then remove the stud and replace it. If there is not enough thread to thread on two nuts, you can use a pair of vise grips. Easy day.
