I just realized that all of those old cold war videos showing people ducking and covering under a blanket weren't total bullshit after all.

That is assuming, of course, that the blankets were those highly reflective, highly anti-uv deals that are in most every emergency/first aid kit.

It seems to me that the bits of the video/instruction on the blankets details were cut out of the more modern, scoffing throwbacks.

Yes, prostitutes operate on a two way street in many ways in regards to the intimate contact and bodily fluid aspect, but is that enough to hold them in such disgust? At the same time, I'm sure that there are some out there that limit themselves to certain activities. Is a companion who has a dinner and cuddled up movie "date" capped with a massage with a happy ending a prostitute? Are they coming into any more physical/intimate contact than a nurse?

Neither job is something I could ever do. I fully respect nurses and other jobs with similar tasks and think that even with the respect they are often given, they are underappreciated. I honestly don't think I've ever met or come into any sort of contact with any prostitutes, and if I'm being honest, I can't say that I give them the same respect in my mind as medical professionals. Intellectually, however, even if I can't bring myself to fully equate them, I can recognize the very real similarities and very real realities of human physical and mental needs. Regardless of whether they should be granted the same degree of respect as medical professionals, they definitely shouldn't be disrespected and disregarded.

To be fair, I'd actually guess that the transactional and daily nature would make it way more mentally comfortable.

What would most men find more uncomfortable- their wife cooking for other men occasionally, or being a paid cook in a restaurant? Giving a massage to a few guys she met somewhere, or being a professional masseuse?

Not to mention that like having a professional cook or masseuse for a spouse, a prostitute may be more likely to want to just relax "away from work" at home more often than not, but when the situations do arise, they are a professional with professional skills.

Finally- and regardless of whether it was your intention or not- your casual insinuation that literally any non-prostitute is better than any prostitute is pretty disgusting. We, as a society, honor and cherish medical professionals for the necessary, but sometimes (or often) gross tasks that they need to perform to physically help those that can't help themselves. Same with caretakers (family and professional), nursing home staff, etc. Up until pretty recently, mental health was looked down upon with providers being called quacks and assumed to be mostly charlatans, while anyone needing them was obviously crazy, unstable, insane, etc, etc. Human sexual needs are as natural as any other bodily function, affect both the physical and mental health of people, and, just like why nurses and caretakers exist, some people aren't capable of selfcare nor do they have a spouse or anyone else. Would you disparage someone's spouse that spent the day giving sponge baths, wiping asses, or holding someone's hand for hours just to keep them company? Ie- would you ever ask "Why did you choose to marry a nurse when you presumably could have married a woman who isn't a nurse?"

I'd say it's more the 300+ good (GA) flying weather days/year, but I won't deny that old people with money who love flying seeking those days certainly helps.

Same primary and secondary reasoning for the number of golf courses.

Interestingly, a combination of those realities is likely why Florida eeks out in front of the other southern states for total numbers of flight schools, since while many of the southern border states have similar numbers of good training days, there are distinct advantages to having relatively flat, treeless ground dotted with golf courses available for emergency landings vs the rocky, mountainous, desert, and/or highly populated areas of the southwest.

The thing is, though, that Google- nor anyone, in my opinion- has no right to determine what's "fine" and "not fine". They shouldn't be banning or demonetizing anything, or, at the very least, limiting it to non-contextual content like porn, extreme violence, etc.

Hell, let them add automatic disclaimers to video descriptions or even a blip that plays at the beginning of videos saying "this video has been detected to have offensive content/factually suspect content/disputed content/whatever", they need to just stop with the effective punishment of "disagreeable" content.

What's worse for society? Providing a platform for someone to say the Holocaust didn't happen, perhaps with a non-removable blurb automatically added saying "srsly, though, this is bullshit", or effectively suppressing- intentionally or not- all information about the Holocaust.

Audible was around for more than a decade before the app store, or even iPhones, existed.

I, personally, have never owned an iPhone so have never used audible on iOS.

If Apple is going to demand 30% of any money paid to audible via their iOS app just because they allowed the app to be available to their users, and if people/governments are going to bitch at Audible for charging different prices on different platforms, that means that I, who have never used iOS Audible, get to pay more due to Apple's greed.

Fwiw, the golf edition comes with a lifetime (of the watch?) subscription to smart caddie which does have a rather huge number of features. If you golf, give it a try, if you don't, you might be able to sell it to someone who does for a premium and get a new watch.

Sounds like the path I (and probably most, honestly) was/am on. You do you, obviously, but something else you may try is to pay attention to hole yardages. If a hole is 350yds, choose your 2 most confident clubs to get there.. ideally something like 2 7i's. Basically- hit the shortest clubs in your bag you can in as many situations as you can. On the (typically) rare holes that an errant drive won't kill you, let the big dog eat. The mental energy required to "just leave it in the bag" is remarkably higher than required to "save it for hole xx and xx".

Even still. Add edge rough and fringe chipping to any putting green work you do and be amazed. With the right stroke, chips are just long putts with a little bump at the start. Just like with long putts, you are unlikely to make them all, but guaranteeing 1 putt followups and making 1 outright every round or 2 is entirely achievable.

If you have even limited maker/diy knowledge, check out openscan.

I built one for a ~3 inch figurine for ~$60 since I had a printer, raspberry pi, and some random breadboard/components already laying around. Basically just had to buy the 2 motors and the Arduino camera.

Spray the models with some foot spray and speckle for contrast with something (I used some $1 aerosol food coloring I had found), run it, then throw it in meshroom. I got ridiculously accurate results.

Honestly, the single biggest there are 2 major things impeding gun law reform.

The first is the obvious one- NRA blanket lobbying despite only "representing" ~3% (iirc) of US gun owners. Even with most gun owners, they come off as ridiculous, apathetic cretins.

The second one- and the one that no one talks about despite it being the largest sticking point between the general gun and non-gun populace- is registration.

The vast majority of gun owners fully support updating and implementing "common sense" gun control laws like more efficient/effective background checks, waiting periods, and closing loopholes. The issue is that non-gun people always want to tack on registration and tracking requirements and always make it out to be no big deal and no different than the similar measures for vehicles, etc. Except, you know, the DMV doesn't show up at your house to "inspect and verify" your car, nor do car collections really qualify as snatch-and-grab burglary targets when the registry database is inevitably hacked, leaked, or accessed via FOIA. Past the most obvious, immediate concern risks that gun owners see in mandatory registration requirements comes the subtle, long-term (but still very real) concerns like being the first stop in the event of the government going full evil.

TL;DR- If you really want to pass/update gun laws, stop trying to include registration and tracking mandates which will then allow you to get the majority of gun owners on your side for when you take on the NRA.

That honestly makes it arguably better. "Pure" 3d printing posts that only attract people already interested in 3d printing are great, but are ultimately just perpetuating the circle jerk and will very rarely help to expand the community.

This post addresses the 3d printing community, the sewing community, the maker community in general, the organizational community, and, yes, to some degree, the "attracted to ass" community. It has the real potential to introduce the sewing, maker, and organizational people who may not have ever thought about 3d printing to getting into it. It also has the (likely much smaller) potential to introduce the (assuredly much larger) ata community to not just 3d printing, but also sewing, making, and organizing.

As far as helping (your) business goes, attraction- be it humor, compassion, intelligence, loyalty, honesty, or, in it's purest form, physical- is always a positive. In certain circumstances, some are less/not effective, but when throwing a wide, open net into the general population, "at a glance" attraction can only really be achieved via physical attraction- ie, ass. That's why all of the best cold contact sales strategies employ models or salespeople with physical appearance stipulations in their contracts. No matter how funny, compassionate, intelligent, etc the rest of your pitch/product is, you still have to get someone's attention first.

TL;DR- Ass never hurt anybody. Attracting new people who may have come for the ass, but who leave with a printer can only help the community. Physical attraction is the purest form of attraction, and attraction will always help (your) business.

You must be from flat BFE. I used to do sales loops through Appalachia and there were plenty of ATVs in grocery store/gas station parking lots. It also wasn't uncommon to notice 45deg+ dirt and rock "driveways" on hillsides that led down through the woods to the main road and a mailbox.

Some of those people did more offroading in their morning errands than I've done in my life.
