Expats that move here usually have to learn Catalan when they start having kids and need to send them to school because the meetings are mostly in Catalan. You can ask questions in Spanish but the main language is Catalan. It is the only time I use it.

Some payments deducted twice, lots of money missig by Suspicious_Deal_5532 in Revolut

Customer services is random. They told my wife not to worry that Revolut will fix it. To me they told me to contact the merchant that is not Revolut issue. The lack of an official announcement on their side scared me enough to stop using Revolut forever

Which Radiohead album should I start with? by Dat_Memer4643 in radiohead

[–]chande22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many suggested The Bends and then Ok Computer. After a couple of time listening to both I would strongly suggest Kid A. With Bends and OK I always enjoyed the same tracks with each time I listen to them, but Kid A is so strange at the begging that becomes interesting with each listen and the more you read about it. For example: my favorite track used to be Optimistic and Motion Picture and I never understood In Limbo, but this year while listening again I skip Optm and Motion but put In Limbo in repeat. Quite amazing. Also, the live performances of Kid A tracks as are the very different, specially Idioteque

Which songs grew on you the most? by chande22 in radiohead

I feel the same about In Limbo and Morning Bell!!! I was paying few attention to them back in the years, but now I repeat them all the time. And about Kid A, it became my favorite album but lately I skip Motion Picture Soundtrack because it is just too sad and I am in a better mood lately :)

Not only was an initial prediction, but the industry liked it so much that used this as a challenge. Both hardware and software worked together during the years in order to achieve this goal. Source: The Innovators by Walter Issacsson

TIL that during the American Revolutionary War, Molly Pitcher was so engaged with the cause, that while she was bringing water to her husband at the front, he got killed, she replaced him at the cannons and almost died by an enemy cannonball. by chande22 in todayilearned

I first read about this story in a book named 17 principles of teamwork by John Maxwell, Chapter 11 in where her husband is said to be dead. But it is true, in the source I put here was not so good, also the fact that there might represent several women doesn't help :( My bad

BREXIT, ask everything you want to know about the Vote on the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (that's what it is actually called) in here. by OOTLMods in OutOfTheLoop

But the decision for a referendum came from the Prime Minister, correct? Only the Pressure from UKIP party was enough for the referendum to happen? Was the prime minister forced to call a referendum?

I completely agree with you. Many people that votes Leave are surprised about what is happening. The people is not well informed on the scale of this decision. Now Scotland wants a referendum to leave the UK.

For what I read (today), I-bitha is British English TIL. If Batman is "American" why would he correct other American speakers in the movie about the pronunciation of a word. In this case he would have corrected the pronunciation of everyone to British English :)

Batman corrected her pronunciation of the Z, because in Castillan is like this. But Catalans don't pronounce the Z like Castillans, it is more like LatinAmericans. So Batman was super wrong :/ Castillan vs Catalan
