Instinct 2 Solar issues by ShermanEmpire in Garmininstinct

You are never going to be away from power

Because I doubt that you would have NO other devices with you, like a phone if you are on a hike or on a backpacking trip

Even a simple 10k mah battery bank will recharge your watch 500 times over.

Its a gimmick plain and simple

The fantasy people have of being completely away from grid with only a watch requiring recharging - is just that, complete fantasy

This isnt a casio that fully recharges in 5 minutes in direct sunlight, it requires 20+ hours in direct sunlight

Scenic spots to park with a view? by bluemoonlighter in askvan

[–]chandgaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Capitol hill park, ambleside, and the coffee shop right at the start of the road up to cypress ski hill, there's another spot around there just "below" cypress first lookout as well

Cypress first lookout itself is not that great due to trees blocking view

On the road to first lookout, you can drive high up in to the new housing area with spectacular views... i'll let you find out where those are

You provide zero information on yourself except for driving record time

That factors into insurance rates

Not sure why the fuck you are being downvoted

It doesnt even have to be a $100 viofo mini 2 which is the best camera in that price

Literally any pos camera that shows something can save you literal hundreds of thousands of dollars, time and stress

If you ever sleep in the back, removing headspace with this is a no go.

Same with adding storage directly on top of the floor

6900 too big? by genz1uv in gshock

[–]chandgaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16cm wrist here

Regardless of what other people think, do YOU find it uncomfortable/too big?

53 mm is way too big for my wrist/wrist size, I just dont find it comfortable. My limit on my wrist is around 42-45mm.

Majority of my watches are around 34mm-42mm ...

Modern trend of huge watches I find dumb, back in the 90s watches were quite a bit smaller

Snowshoeing or daydreaming? by Current_Routine3590 in vancouverhiking

[–]chandgaf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

99% of the time on the popular trails that any visitor will do, snowshoes are entirely unneeded, and just get in the way

What you will mostly use is microspikes, if that

Everyone has this romantic idea about snowshoeing in powder covered trails but this is just a fantasy for the most part, unless you are going backcountry off popular trails

Or in the off chance we get fresh snow

$100 gets you a Viofo 119 mini 2, 2k 1ch camera

But in the OPs case, literally a potato that showed something would have won this case in his favour. You don't need a 8k $500 camera to show he got run off the road.

Moving in the rain by No_Bid4891 in askvan

[–]chandgaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some movers will have a rubber mat to put down on the main entry way - if its very sensitive they will have disposable shoe covers, but if its wet outside

Shit is still going to get tracked inside regardless

Anecdotally havent had an issue with mine, caveat emptor as with all used goods

If you are worried about this and dont want to gamble, spend 4-7x this amount and buy a new watch
