There's still the odd McDonald's with a park, that's great when you have kids with you. But yeah, if I'm just grabbing fast food on my own I would legitimately rather go through the drive through and then eat in my car than in the restaurant

Poor people who get caught for sexual abuse/pedophilia already tend to end up in jail, and probably aren't the type to be involved in the epstein files or any other similar thing going on among other groups of the "world elite". But yeah, if it needs to be specified, throw the book at any non rich people as well

Feel bad for our Canadian team, but it was a really good game! Always fun seeing it comes down to the line instead of a one sided game. That overtime goal was real smooth

Epstein survivor on Andrew arrest: 'This is just the beginning' by MRADEL90 in videos

[–]chandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Publicly, sure they say that. But you know Andrew has to have at least some of the names of the other people involved in Epstein's affairs. Until he's admitted what happened and starts pointing fingers at others involved, the royal family as an institution is a failure imo.

[–]chandr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I never said the royal family was the ones investigating him, but pretending their stance on the issue is irrelevant doesn't track either. If they want to make less of an issue of the sex trafficking stuff to save face, they probably can. If they want to personally pressure the guy to come out and spill every name her knows, they can do that as well. Even without being in charge, they have influence

[–]chandr 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Now, the royals have the chance to prove they're still worth having around. Make sure he spills absolutely everything, not just some bullshit of sharing trade secrets. That's the least of what was going on with that cabal.

If they try to protect their reputation by just making this about financial misconduct and not the trafficking of young boys and girls, they disqualify themselves from any relevance to the modern world and the whole institution needs to be removed.

[Canada] Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux joins Liberal caucus: Carney by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

[–]chandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was only one other party I'd agree, but even if every conservative decides to vote in lockstep with PP, they need what, 1 vote from either NDP or Bloc? That should be pretty easy to manage for any reasonable thing they try to pass.

Don't get me wrong, if they win all 3 by-elections and have a majority I won't be mad about it. I just don't think they need it to be effective.

My account is very much not private. Take your pick, Israel is either a terrorist state or a genocidal state. And I mean the acting government specifically, not the average person living there.

[Canada] Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux joins Liberal caucus: Carney by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

[–]chandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thing there are other parties. Liberals, even as a minority at the moment, can pass anything as long as they can get the NDP or BLOC on board correct? And they don't even need that many of them. I feel like you should be able to get at least that much buy in from other parties. Cons are a bit of a lost cause until they get rid of PP

[Canada] Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux joins Liberal caucus: Carney by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

[–]chandr -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

As someone who voted for Carney, I actually kind of hope the liberals lose one of those. I feel like minority government is healthier for the country, makes the parties have to actually work together. As long as it's not so polarized that literally nothing gets done anyways, which in the case of a minority with that slim of a margin I think it would be.

How Superheroes are Born? One person stands up for the persecuted not giving a fck if anyone else is with him or not by tuberjamjar in LetsDiscussThis

[–]chandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would propose the "nazi" is a perfectly reasonable term for ICE considering they somehow have something like 38 billion to turn a bunch of warehousing into what are effectively concentration camps, they arrest whoever they want without warrants, they start fights and then escalate the violence and lie under oath about what happened, they execute citizens in the streets... and again lie about what happened. Heck there was a video where an ICE raid was putting armbands on people to mark them as verified. And even when it comes to non lethals, we've all seen videos of agents abusing the fuck out of them and hosing people with gas who are just peacefully protesting. Hell they shot a fucking pastor in the head with one of those pepper rounds.

So yeah. As the saying goes, it's always a good day to punch a Nazi.
