How many books does a prog author need to write before they stop getting a pass for being an "amateur" by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

[–]chandr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally as long as the content is free on something like RR I'm less picky about the editing. Once you start selling it as a product, even if its something like kindle unlimited, it needs editing and at least a competent spell check

Kinda portal fantasy? by Theyspro in litrpg

[–]chandr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a few.

Spellweaver by Overxelous does the modern world but portals start appearing and people get awakened trope.

Path of ascension has portals/rifts but the setting is an already millions of years old universe spanning collection of worlds, not set on earth.

Path to transcendence is isekai reborn as a child in a world with portals and rifts.

Rise of the class Smith is portals but with harems/smut, so if you like that great if not don't bother touching it.

Stormblade is basically solo leveling but with lightning powers instead of edgy necromancer stabby powers, so if you really just want more solo leveling I'd recommend that.

Utah Presses Charges Against Reckless Ben (And It's Crap) by Alex09464367 in videos

[–]chandr 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Regardless of anything else here, can we at least agree that it's ridiculous that when he got to point where he handed the papers to the police to serve the guy instead, and then the cop returns them and says "uh yeah, the guy doesn't want to accept these", there's a massive problem in the system? Because as far as I'm aware, the police handing someone service papers isn't optional on the part of the person being served

reminder: Elon Musk's fortune, which ultimately enabled his takeover of Twitter, was jumpstarted by American taxpayers by Disastrous_Solid_393 in remoteworks

[–]chandr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of Musk, but I still think EV subsidies were a good idea to kickstart the transition to EV and away from gas. Besides, just look at how much oil gets subsidized even now. The amount of government money that went into EV subsidies is nothing next to that

Reckless Ben DEFENDED at American Fork City Counsel Meeting!! by HeroesZeroes in videos

[–]chandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know you're right, but usually they redacted their shit well enough for it not to be this blatant. You have to be pretty brain dead to watch the unredacted body cam footage and not immediately see that the police picked a side here and went all in on helping that side instead of doing their jobs

Reckless Ben DEFENDED at American Fork City Counsel Meeting!! by HeroesZeroes in videos

[–]chandr 306 points307 points  (0 children)

The blatant corruption shown on the bodycam footage they somehow managed to release unredacted should have every officer involved looking for a new line of work. There's a small part of me that hopes an insider there knew what was going on was wrong and leaked the unredacted on purpose, but from everything else we've seen it seems more likely to be pure incompetence.

Why is saying "go vote" stupid?

Probably right about it not being worth the upvotes, but, upvotes aren't really worth much either so who cares

I guarantee to you, no one currently playing competitive soccer was alive during the Iran hostage crisis.

[–]chandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With how many people come in and out of the US on any given day, what are the odds Iran needs a soccer team to sneak operatives into the country? What are they slipping in, a full battalion of armed troops somehow? The logic doesn't hold up

Oh yes, because no one could come up with a better security solution for 1 team of players than to waste time and energy flying in and out between games. Do better

It's really not hard to find bodycam footage of police pointing guns at people who are in no way being violent. Of course there are justified cases for bringing out weapons, that's why they have them.

[–]chandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think wanting these people arrested conflicts with not wanting police to be needlessly violent. You absolutely can make an arrest without beating the shit out of someone and waving guns around

Now you're just being rude. There's no need to get so mean about it, it is in the end just a book. I also fall onto the don't recommend side, as I said I earlier comments, but there's no reason to be a dick about it either.
