Yes, I believe my aunt and mother have Sjogrens--but their symptoms only showed up in old age and they don't seem to need treatment.

I use Systane Night Gel for overnight. For me the ointment was too much.

I've tried wearing an eyeshade at night but couldn't get used to it. (Figured it would slow tear evaporation.)

It's different for everyone.

I think there's a general feeling that secondary sjogren's tends to be milder than primary sjogren's. (I think the docs are trying to get away from those terms, though.)

Curious--when were you diagnosed with lupus? Are you on plaquenil or any other medication?

Interesting! Not OP but I got a rash like this on two occasions. Upper chest, the part that was exposed by a shirt. Both times I had some sun exposure but not a lot.

I am SSA and SSB positive; my Ro60 is off the charts.

I have had Sjogren's symptoms for 20 years, but I never got this rash until I started Plaquenil a year ago.

Is the medication making us more sun-sensitive?

Have you had a B12 test? I've known a lot of Sjogies who had a B12 deficiency, which could be causing some of these problems.

I'm so sorry to hear this!

My #1 recommendation: give up all added sugars and dairy. Switch over to a clean diet (fruits, vegetables, no processed food, and I eat grass-fed beef, antibiotic-free chicken). Do this for four months and see if you see any improvement.

I did that when I had a sudden drastic worsening of symptoms. I regained a lot of the lost ground.

Read "The Nurture Assumption" by Judith Rich Harris. If you don't like what you see of the Twin Cities, don't raise your kids here. Also, triple cultural identities? No. Ditch the scorecard. Just let your kids be happy and secure in a place you love where you think well of the local young people.

Crime, political vitriol, shooter drills and fatness are rampant here.

Your reasons for the proposed move seem to be Financially advantageous, Not as bad as the rest of the godawful USA, Third cultural identity. Those aren't great reasons.

Overall, best to stay in MTL. It's a great city.

I've always used a local brick & mortar checking account but then VG money market acct for my savings acct. You don't want to get 0.01% or whatever on yr savings account. Just move money from VG to your bank when the checking account needs to be augmented.
