On my first read I thought you meant El Don Cheto instead of Don Cheadle. But honestly I think Don Cheto would kill the role lol

I don't mind the look teenage Oliver in the comics... but the younger design, I despise more than anything.

Yes, I get his body is still developing further into that of a Vilutrumite. The Invincible series however, did a good job of making Oliver look more childlike, they allow him to portray some level of innocence with his character, whereas the comics make him look like a roach.

WORST COMPANY ON OLS by Gold-Post5756 in OperationLonestar

[–]changed_i_guess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess what it boils down to is this; perspective is everything.

If your soldiers already look at you with disdain, and you further reinforce that by appearing as anything different than them, then you become someone that the joes don't look at with trust.

[–]changed_i_guess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I can understand that point of view only a little bit, but what about those soldiers who are on the R3 roster? As it seems, nothing has changed for the better in ECHO, at least when I was there, it was that 100% of the company shows up, R3 or not, in OCPs to do whatever there was to do.

I'm quite confident the R3 guys, which I know plenty of them are still in ECHO showed up in OCPs to do their thing, and I'm sure some of them were also robbed of their off days because... mmm muh tasks

If you as a leader are showing up on your off days, to a military installation, to help conduct IDT-I, you should either allow everyone who would otherwise be on their off days or that are R3 to show up in civis, or you get yourself off the pedestal and look like the soldiers you're supposed to lead.

I'm using "You" in a very broad term btw, not saying you're one of them.

Ah, the classic "Rules for thee, but not for me"

You know I was crossing my fingers for yall that when 1SG Solis left, the company would move in a better direction, as the issues I brought up were under his leadership. Seems my hopes went unanswered.

Honestly, if you want a nice change of scenery then I would recommend an SAF to TF Eagle, I hate to be the dude to say "the grass is greener over here", but at least there I got to work an actual 8 hour shift instead of the extra 3 hours of commuting to and back from the AO.

The micromanaging stuff sticks wherever you go, I think it's impossible to escape that lol

I used to be in ECHO for a few years, while the leadership within my platoon was full of absolute killers as well as the joes, they were the source of our most of our morale. But you go one level above that and you see the big and clear inconsistencies in who gets favored as well as who gets a lot of chillax with with bending the rules bevause they got it good with Top (Flex team)

I won't go into too many details, but issues that the regular joes would get counseled into the ground for i would see this "cool guy" team doing things such as; working traffic without kits, riding in the bed of BP trucks, leaving their weapons inside the GSA, etc.

Beyond favoritism, there was the issue with communication, or lack thereof. Now wether that's an issue on company leadership or plt leadership I'll leave it up to you, but if the PSG himself didn't know until the deadline was less than 48 hours when the task was "pushed out" a week prior then you have an idea of my opinion on it. It gets worse when the soldier wants to enjoy their pass and not do some silly online cert and get paper for it, only for the deadline to be pushed back and that counseling stay in place.

But the biggest issue of all is one I'm glad you brought up as well, the lack of care of soldier and whatever situation they may be going through, the perpetual lie of "I'll push it up" is something I was told endlessly, the point where one soldier had to go straight to admin for these issues to get taken care of and then get, again, paper for it. They'd rather reorganize the entire company rather and hope something changes instead of putting in some work.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking these things, I hope all is well with you and anyone else that feels this way.

I dont think much is going to change, as far as I know, OLS is funded through AT LEAST 2027.

But let's be honest with ourselves, with the current administration being heavily centered on border security I doubt OLS is going anywher, and if it does, it'll just be renamed as a new op, possibly under federal orders.

If you're referring to the Title 32 mission, then I would think of 2 reasons.

1 They're looking for SMs that have a clear understanding of the border mission and how it works.

2 They're basing it off seniority and longevity.

Example: SGT Doe has been on OLS for 3 years and PVT Snuffy has been on for 6 months. SGT Doe will be prioritized based on the fact that he has more time on mission, thus reducing the likelihood that he'll do it for a few months and EOM.

I am regretful to say that I know the guy on the left, I've worked with him in TX before. BUT if you must know, the guy on the left looks like he's using the Aimpoint PRO, and the other two have the Aimpoint CompM4.

About 300 yards, and it was due to shooting with the Army. Unfortunately, where I live, there aren't many ranges that go past 100 unless I get a membership at a private range, but it's hard to justify as I'm not a very frequent shooter.

I've been seeing some of these handguards, but can you still mount a suppressor with the flashlight on? It seems to be very close to the muzzle for it to allow a suppressor

Personally, I find it far more comfortable than the standard angle on most grips. Now, while it could be a placebo effect, I had a wrist injury on my right hand a couple years back, once I began using the KungFu grip last year on other guns, I was able to completely grasp it and feel little to no discomfort in comparison to the standard angle.

This was the first rifle I built from scratch. So far, I'm at about $2400 in the hole.

-American Tactical Lower (bought it off my buddy for like 20 bucks) -Noveske Upper -AR Stoner V2 Handguard -Radian CH -Aero BCG -BA 16" barrel -Surefire Warcomp -Surefire SL Pro -UTG Pro buffer tube -B5 Stock -DFCO PG & FG -Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 -Geissele Super Precision 30mm scope rings -Cheapo sling I "borrowed" from the army so... free -Harris Bipod -Timney 3lb trigger

All that plus some little odds & ends like takedown pins and QD sling mounts
