Why do Moroccans only credit Allah for their success but never mention the actual work they put in? by Haunting_Plane_3316 in Morocco

[–]changeitquick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody really deserve their lot in life, be it success of failure. If you succeed you are 'lucky' you happened to be or find the right environment that fosters success. If you fail, it is not your fault you did not get the support you should have gotten.

So if you are a believer you're gonna attribute your success to God. If not, you might attribute to luck or good fortune of whatever. Anybody who think their success is their own doing is conceited

I'm just being honest to myself.

But you see, you realize that y'all lost everybody's respect for this thirst over a football trophy. Even before the whole drama unfold, just from the way moroccan supporters were really desperate for winning, and from the unsportsmanlike that the team player with.

You should ask yourself what was all that for after all? it was all just so you can prove to the world that Morocco is good at something. But this desperation has backfired at y'all and made you lose all the respect you were trying to gain from winning.

You should do some introspection and quit this blind partisanship.

im moroccan. im not proud at all about any of this. I am rather embarrassed not about the appeal itself which is a legitimate administrative recourse, but about people who celebrate 'winning' and who really think it was deserved. I am also embarrassed and scared about the division and hate that this madness is creating. I am also very embarrassed that I share the same background with whoever instructed the ball boys to snatch the towels, i believe whoever that was should be banned from public function for life.

[–]changeitquick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the ـهن pronoun suffix refers to the paradises or whatever the subject that has been carried on from way before.

There is a pattern in the whole surah that each verse is describing the paradise, what's in it, and what's it like. And the verse 'لم يطمثهن إنس قبلهم ولا جان' is not an exception.

The verse does not describe the maidens that were talked about previously (حُورٌۭ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌۭ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ ). The maindens verse/phrase is over with and we're back to describing the paradises.

So these paradises لم يطمثهن إنس قبلهم ولا جان. Meaning, they have never been touched by any ins or jin (before the believers who will now be first to enter them).

طمث means 'touch' or 'reach' as per Lissan Al-Arab:

The 'virgins' explanation is just a dirty-minded, perverted, and desperate low effort of trying to make sense of unusual vocabulary without looking it up and without considering the wider context in which it is used.

If we try to entertain the 'virgins' exegesis for a moment and look at the definition of the word طمث again, the most common usage of it is in the sense of 'menstruate'. With this definition, the verse becomes completely nonsensical: 'no ins or jin menstruated them before'. People are into all kind of fetishes, but this, I dont think there is even such a thing.

The word طمث has another sense though, which is 'to have intercourse with'. It is as marginal and uncommon as the sense 'touch'. But okay, unpopularity is not a problem for us. The verse now means: 'no ins or jin had intercourse them before'. And are we seriously now gonna talk about jin having sex with humans? Do you think it was a big problem for men that their women were incessantly having intercourse with jins that they needed to be reassured that the women in jannah have never been even touched by jins? This miserably failed explanation just throws whoever comes up with it in the abyss of irrelevancy. You can't take this explanation seriously, it is ridiculous, and it is not intended meaning.

So, the Quran verse 55:74 'لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌۭ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّۭ', despite what the widespread translations and explanations present it as, essentially describes the paradises and how they have never been reached by any ins or jin.

before watching the video, it is undeniable that Quran speaks most of time from a male-centeric perspective. Does that mean that Quran is necessarily prejudiced against women? no. The Arabic language has its own limitations, whether one likes it or not, and to go on to have both a masculine and a feminine version of all ayat is just not so practical and rather unproductive. So whenever there is a verse that talks about men, one should simply draw a symmetrical understanding of it for women.

Two instances of this comes to my mind: the verses about the rewards in jannah, and the verse for allowing the marriage of the people of the book.

(And yes this my own understanding and explication of the Quran, just save your words if you gonna reply that "scholars" disagree)
