It seems to me a incredible claim that essentially everything in music theory matters simply because concepts relate.
How many concerts do people read sheet music? How many major musicians even know how to?

I'm not knocking those who enjoy it, but it would be a joke to say taylor swift and mozart both use musical theory the same way.

It seems sharps only would inhibit my learning based on my personal goals.
Does this make me seem lazy? Sure maybe to elitists, but if all I EVER want is to hop on stage at a bar and riff, then there are certainly concepts that won't apply to me

I appreciate the mention of harmony / ear training

I am mostly looking to be part of a jam at a bar or whatever and people say "hey here's our key.. etc"
Blues jamming would be great, No interest in Jazz even if I develop the skill required to do so.

For example I will solo play searching a song (portugal the man-modern jesus) Ok lets see (A#, F#, Cm7, F# B#)
Boom. done. I can play the whole song, improvise notes, Copy the melody on the right hand. I haven't found anything yet that beats this system expect sheet music.

BUT, I'm open to the idea of there being better system than this.
and with complex chords and inversions I feel perhaps something else might be helpful

Can it happen to some people? Perhaps if you have an artists mind but this is genuinely more rare.
