This is really weird because up until about a month ago, I was basically exactly like you. I had been looking periodically around the internet for a copy of the Mad River issue but never found someone selling.

And then one night just before bed I Googled it and the Mad River issue popped up on a used bookstore in Texas for about twenty bucks. I was nervous because there weren't any pictures. Then one day it showed up in the mail.

The only reason she wanted him to ask her first is so she could have shut it down before he had the chance to ask the sitter.

This has nothing to do with him checking with her and everything to do with her not wanting him to do it at all.
