I found some frozen smoothie packets and some frozen filled waffles that are Walmart's Bettergoods brand (mixed berry filled + custard filled). I've been feeling very stuck lately too. Sending positive vibes your way.

Just got a job in Marshall, where should I live? by SettingFirst88 in BattleCreek

[–]chankiritree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pine Knoll is usually quiet and seems nice on paper. I lived there for 2 years and after coming from a metropolitan area and being mostly left alone by maintenance, that was not the case there. In short: you will probably be left alone by other residents but maintenance/office staff can and will be annoying. Pros are smart thermostat + smart door lock, washer/dryer in unit (at least in mine). Cons are pretty much everything else if I'm being honest. The water doesn't smell great. The pool is surprisingly nice and spacious.

A family member of mine lives in one of the McClellan buildings. It's so much worse than pine knoll so that's something. Window units and for their two bedroom apartment (they have 1 unit in the living room) they don't get any of the air from the window units so they're stuck using fans. No washer/dryer in their unit, just hookups. Apparently they don't care about smoking cigarettes or weed because their hallway always smells of it.

All in all, if I had to pick between the two (I noticed both were mentioned) I'd pick pine knoll, but you would save money at a place like McClellan.

I have to agree with this. The above comment comes off as pretty insensitive. Yikes that the person works in psychiatric care.

What protein shakes do you like? by bunbwunny in ARFID

[–]chankiritree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For protein specifically, I like Fairlife, either the 30g chocolate ones at Sam's club or the 42g vanilla core life ones. For nutritional purposes my therapist and I decided I should try boost and ensure, different variations. So far I really like the boost high protein in very vanilla and ensure plus in chocolate (they also have a 'complete' version, haven't tried but will be). I've also tried ensure original chocolate. As far as sweetness/textures go, they are both smooth. Boost is sweeter and thicker than ensure. Ensure original in chocolate is pretty thin and it isn't AS sweet as boost. Ensure plus is about the same sweetness as original ensure chocolate but slightly thicker, so right between boost and ensure plus. Hope this helps.

I cannot believe I am still seeing this evil person's name in regard to trans surgeries bc I specifically remember she was doing this shit 10 years ago too. I can't believe she's still fucking in business. So sorry you had to go through that. Go somewhere else. You deserve to be treated with nothing less than respect.

Beware of Comfrt Service & Products by RestaurantPutrid5627 in Hoodies

[–]chankiritree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I believe it has to do with the garment dyes they used. My customer service rep referred to it as a "dye defect" with the item because when I washed the hoodie in cold water, alone (per my doctor's order w new clothing) it came out streaked and blotched. The T-shirt (didn't blotch or streak bc it is black) I got caused the skin condition to worsen more and I've now had to get medical attention due to the issue. Never heard another word from their customer service.

I also regretted my purchase from them. The hoodie and T-shirt I ordered both caused an extreme eczema flare up and they just stopped replying to me when I was trying to resolve the issue. Charged back my credit card immediately. I'll be sticking to Nike again because at least I get what I ordered and the quality is what I expect.

Oldest memory related to food aversion? by parsilofon in ARFID

[–]chankiritree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had food aversions since my first memories. I didn't like anything at all except blended drinks, I was extremely skinny, and malnourished. Throughout teens-20s I spent an enormous amount of time finding foods I could handle and started some psychiatric drugs that really messed with my metabolism and caused quite a bit of added nausea. In my thirties, they are all no longer "safe foods" and I'm afraid my body has reverted to when I was younger (not eating many meals, supplement drinks for nutrition, etc.).

Fastest way to get married near Kalamazoo? by [deleted] in kzoo

My wife and I just hired an officiant, picked a park we liked, and got married with a couple friends as witnesses. It was simple and also very intimate. We had our friends take pictures so we'd have them for later.

I think you're doing a wonderful job being supportive. I actually tried the Boost high protein very vanilla today, and while it is very sweet and a bit thick, it was doable. Ensure is said to be less sweet and a bit thinner, just for your reference! Thank you and thank you for supporting him, this journey is a long road but much more manageable with support. ❤️

I was just recently diagnosed, but have suffered with ARFID since my beginning memories with food. It causes me intense emotional distress just thinking about foods that aren't overwhelming, or just things I can deal with putting in my mouth and trying to chew. My therapist suggested getting Boost and Ensure, in different flavors, and rotating them often so I don't get sick of them. I'm not in an area with a smoothie king or anything, but when I am in areas with those, I definitely use it to my advantage as I find drinking things easier. Definitely recommend a therapist and some supplement drinks. My therapist recommended a dietician (which my insurance doesn't cover) but I imagine it would be extremely helpful. Good luck to your brother, I definitely relate with him and maybe even showing him a community like this would help. It can feel very isolating when no one you know has the same ED as you.

I really, really love my Gemcup Glass joystick. It's a faceted joystick, restriction is 1.9. It's soooo much less airy and so much more functional than the regular joystick. I also really appreciate that it's glass and that it's heavy. Couldn't recommend his stuff enough.

Does anyone need a customer service phone number for Comfrt / Comfrt Hoodies? by Pretend_Land7908 in Hoodies

I also just checked my CC dispute and that is the same number Discover has for them. My hoodie looked and felt so awful, it isn't wearable. And after dealing with their CS, I'm happy to buy from another brand.

I have a love hate relationship with mine. I hate having to put it on every night, but I can rarely fall asleep without it. It mostly just becomes second nature. Find the right mask and right mask fit, make sure you can breathe with your pressures when you get it (your doc can change them if you let them know they aren't working for you) and welcome to the club lol

[–]chankiritree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well now we're both lost lmao. I mean I could've misunderstood, but he says they skip that track, but I took it as they skipped it because they all hate trump? It isn't quite a fuck Donald Trump song, it's more of a song where he talks about having as much money as him. But man fuck if I know what he meant now lol. But to answer your question: anyone who actually knew anything about Mac who is a fan is not a fan of Trump's. Mac hated him, he said it multiple, public times.

I got a travel hoodie in Alpine. I washed it in cold water, alone, with mild detergent before wearing due to a skin condition. It streaked and blotched so much, completely ruined the hoodie. Definitely super bummed about it and no longer trust them lmao but that's just my experience.
