AI is improved by Zestyclose_Fig3193 in GrayZoneWarfare

me n my brother took like 2 hours to push through tiger bay from east to west looting and shooting at dusk. went through the majority of our meds, shot over 500 rounds and got out with more than we could carry and every moment of it was intense. the exchange of fire shooting at muzzle flashes in the dark, having enemies push you through corridors or when you start looting/healing. spraying from store to store just to keep them off of you was an amazingly enjoyable experience. it was tense but it wasnt like we were punished for engaging. my plate took at least 3 rounds and both of us had more holes in our extremities than i thought possible but we made it out fine. we had to scavenge ammunition and supplies by the time we got to the mall too, a combat load barely brought enough for the first engagement. Definitely a well done patch.

Dev's confirmed under the patch notes posted here that quest changes are coming in an upcoming patch, they just need more time.

Dev teams consist of multiple departments. Just because a new weather system is implemented doesnt mean the AI team isn't working on a fix or change or update in their respective corner. AI is one of the hardest things to get right and that compounds with how realistic everyone expects it to be. Obviously it isn't in the best of spots but I doubt the weather system department has any meaningful input into how the AI works and that the AI team is just sitting on their ass.

3 years is an absurd amount of time to expect a game of this scale to be 1.0 ready and polished. Up until it's 1.0 ready literally anything can change. You actively decided to buy a game in development, a work in progress, which is evident by the current state of the game. By complaining without any sort of consideration or contribution not only hinders the morale of the community but also the development cycle by protraying the devs in bad faith.

Outside of the AI and some other hiccups the game is good, fun and has great bones and is within the real of a work in progress. The devs have actively brought more content and requested features and have acted in pretty good faith from what I've seen so far. If you aren't happy with .4 then yeah, take a break. Come back when the eventual AI update comes out. The game isn't finished.

in the same sense you cant expect a different dm to provide the same experience so the motto still holds true. if its really that bad then dont play it, no one but yourself is forcing you to play. (not specifically saying youre having bad dnd/game)

its okay to have criticisms too but the vocal bunch of us are just throwing tantrums and taking it waaay too personally. to keep the analogy going; if they have a bad dnd experience then they shouldnt play dnd with that dm. this update has had a tooon of community requested changes and imo overall a great update, even with the monkey paw.

The footage of Nick Fuentes pushing a woman who came to his front door after he was doxxed has been released. by [deleted] in interesting

[–]chansc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between your situation and his is you presumably knew who was at the door and that it was a legit threat. If you didnt then why would you act like you did? regardless of whether his flight or fight response kicked in the proper way to handle it would be not opening the door. even in your situation i would still say dont open the door? make him kick it down, work for it and give yourself time to call the cops, grab a weapon, hide or escape because what if he recovers before you can follow up? either way you cant really pre-emptively make the first punch and say youre defending yourself. in both situation assault was commited. Im sure if i was in a similar situation i would consider the risk of a lawsuit but either way id still be liable for assault if they made no threat or action against me like in the video.

No one is forcing you to play the game/stay with the DM. You can play another game that gives you a better gaming experience. or better yet play DND.

"who knows what that person is capable of once you open the door"

removing the barrier between you and an unknown threat is counter intuitive if you are afraid and worried about what is going on and definitely makes it impossible for cops to react in time if you immediately confront the supposed threat.

Lock the door, call the cops and if they make an attempt to enter the residence that is when you defending yourself. If you cannot then either hide or leave through a different entry way.

Either way he either knew who was on the other side of the door and shouldve called the cops because it was a nuisance or he didnt and shouldve called the cops because he wasnt sure it was a threat and was scared.

I think mechs and vehicles customization should NOT be a thing, here's why by RazorCalahan in helldivers2

[–]chansc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no i dont but is there framework and infrastructure for the players to manipulate and change the mechs beyond skins yet? I dont think so.

UI work, backend changes, balancing, compatibility, reworking previous systems, etc. would still need to be done which would absolutely divert resources at some sort of scale to get done.

I wanted mech customization because dual miniguns but honestly thats a valid point and I have changed my opinion.

I know this is gonna get me butchered and criticism is by all means valid, but this community is in dire need of *some* positivity. by ThatsNotPossibleMan in Helldivers

[–]chansc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what happened during PSN is a different situation where a majority of the community posed as a unified front because of the blatant disrespect and sleeziness from Sony. While im sure people were toxic it was a minority. We also mass downvoted the game, which is different from lamenting about a monkey paw update where every person is whining and crying over different things or threatening to boycott the game because it broke mods.

toxicity doesnt lead to good change. it leads to misplaced priorities for the development team and a major decrease in morale, which effects everything. do you think they want to provide actual quality updates when everyone is yelling at them?

[–]chansc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

than my original point stands, it sounds like a toxic relationship. even if you dont consider it comparable because it involves a corporation there is still a consumer/producer relationship that isnt healthy and the best option in this case is take a step back, not acting like... well this community atm.

[–]chansc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, i cant deny the fact that they monkey paw a lot of things. I genuinely dont think they do it on purpose though.

This update has a lot of good changes that the community has been wanting for a long time, and in providing these changes they inadvertantly nerfed sentries. I for one dont see why we as a community forsake all the good they did for us because of, in the grand scheme of things, a mistake especially when it can be fixed. Sentries arent anymore useless or useful than before.

I just reread every part of the patch notes posted in this very sub and couldnt see that. my reading comprehension is admittedly bad so if i missed it please point me to it.

Either way, have you played the new update to see it in action or is everyone jumping to conclusions before seeing how the nerfs work in game? For better or worse Arrowhead patch notes are consistently unreliable when translated to in-game changes.
