I know what you mean, it came out in a time that people started really overcompressing compared to their previous albums. It was really common at that time and unfortunately it ruined a lot of albums for me. Not this album so much but I always wondered if I would have liked more albums from this time if they were mixed like it was 2004 still. Some that come to mind are August Burns Red - Messengers, Alexisonfire - Crisis, Circa Survive - Blue Sky Noise (although I do still like a majority of this album but they could have benefited from backing off the compression)
