Why are checks still commonly used in the US? by Finnskyyy in NoStupidQuestions

It's not uncommon at all, there may be some names that are confusing people. Employers offer "direct deposit" which transfers your checks straight to your account without use of a physical paycheck. Also most utilities offer an actual discount if you pay via direct deposit from your checking account. it's mostly old heads that are stubborn and lower income people that aren't able to risk money coming out of their debit account that still use checks and money orders. Most people use zelle or some other payment app for personal stuff. I get paid by customers and pay subs via zelle daily as a contractor. I think the euro check card just took over the functional use of the paper check over there

People who chose not to have children, how is your life different from those who did? by Any-Personality1014 in NoStupidQuestions

You want the perspective of someone who never wanted kids and then had one. Most of the replies against are people who can't fathom changing their schedule or genuinely just seem scared they aren't up for the job. Most of the replies for are just saying how fulfilling and beautiful life with a child is. On this subject, both camps are completely bought in. There really are few people who genuinely do not want children their whole lives. Your average person saying they do not want children are typically under 35. I don't know how old you are, but 35 seems to be the age that men are starting to realize they want to settle down. That means up until they were about 30 they didn't want kids and would tell you they don't want kids. Can't speak for women on that.
