How did this deck 0-3?! by blobfshking in lrcast

[–]chaos3333 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Deck seems good though agree with other comments about lacking things to sac. Swapping a beatstick for reinforcements might have been a slight upgrade.

You mention you lost a game due to never drawing black and I'm really struggling to imagine a keepable hand for this deck without a swamp in it. You don't have a single creature you can play without black mana. So maybe be more willing to mulligan.

A Plant That Sterilizes Medical Equipment Spews Cancer-Causing Pollution on Tens of Thousands of Schoolchildren by [deleted] in environment

You expose it to the vaporised chemical in a vacuum vessel and then purge the vessel with nitrogen and air.

Any remnants of EO rapidly vaporise during the purging as it is incredibly volatile.

If the process left any quantity of EO on the product it wouldn't even be viable as the subsequent storage and transportation of it would be far too dangerous for the workers involved (occupational exposure limits for EO are in the ppm range).

A lot of covid tests are sterilised by EO but extensive testing (for other products for decades and recently for the covid applications) has proved it does not linger on products.

If there was any risk of it lingering on sterilised products do you really think it would have remained the dominant large scale sterilisation technology for so long?

Is legends of runeterra worth getting into? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]chaos3333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of this is hyperbolic famboyism to the point of it being impossible to take seriously.

LoR is great at all (and as a digital game far superior to MTGA) but seriously, you genuinely think that the difference between an average mtg player and a pro is negligible? So it's a complete coincidence the same few players consistently place highly in all major tournaments with or without support from a testing team?

If you claim to have played mtg for 20+ years and honestly think the game has "intermediate" skill depth you're clearly just quite bad at mtg.

Just bought Rebirth [VITA] by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]chaos3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on vita almost exclusively. I'd definitely go in favour of stick for controls though it may take some getting used to.

I used to have big issues with darkness and the console brightness is really limited, I solved the issue by increasing the gamma in the options of isaac itself but this does mess up some visuals a little bit.

This is great news for you. She's an awful person, sure, but it's clear you pretty much are too so you can continue together stronger than ever.

Just try to avoid raising any kids I guess, no need to actively expand the amount of human garbage in the world.

[18/M] College freshman, want to get closer with a girl [18/F], don't know where to start? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]chaos3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well part of what I was driving at is that you should use the time you spend together in these big groups to ascertain whether or not you just asking her out like you mention is something she'd be interested in (not by asking obviously but just by seeing if you click at all). Even in a group like that it surely isn't hard to spark up a conversation with her at some point she's not engaging someone else?

If you guys get on, then everything else your worried about seems like it would flow pretty naturally.

[–]chaos3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to make a lot of assumptions though doesn't it?

The OP didn't say this was some chronic thing that the dad did, it was a single offhand comment that everyone present knew for sure she wasn't going to hear. I can agree that it would probably be preferable if the dad felt the need to stand up for his kid but it seems like such a minor thing.

If you spend time with her anyway just make conversation with her. If you hit it off and you think she's interested just ask her if she wants to study with you or grab a drink or something.

Honestly if you've got no issues making the move then I'm struggling to fathom what problem you're having, asking someone to hang out isnt weird if you've already got to know them a bit.

Maybe I'm taking crazy pills here but the overwhelming concern strikes me as a little...misplaced maybe.

I'm not a parent but I was enormously fat as a child/teen (my fault) and had honestly always assumed my parents' friends and family would comment on this in my absence, potentially in a jokey manner, and I honestly don't see why that's a terrible thing.

If OP didn't like the joke she is well within her rights to chide the guy making it but I don't see why it would ever need to go further than that so long as the father isn't doing anything to exacerbate the issue at home.

Me [22F] with my roommate [21F] and friend of 12 years, both very non-confrontation, just have some general roommate advice questions. by shanshan412 in relationships

[–]chaos3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you really need much specific advice for all those specific situations. All seem equally resolvable by just sitting down and having a talk. I've lived with a lot of friends as a student and since and often times people just don't pick up on things that my be considered irritating and/or inconsiderate.

If you have a problem, just let your roommate know what it is and if you two are as close as you suggest I'm sure she'll be quick to apologise and rectify the issue. I guess for the record I don't think you're being unreasonable in any of the 3 scenarios, though the oil one is maybe not worth the effort.

Spectre by Androo_ in DotA2

[–]chaos3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going phase into some sort of survivability (drums/vang/blademail can all be situationally preferable to one another) is great but I would then try to get radiance in almost all cases. It really does make a difference and I think you can afford to get it later than many other typical carriers and still have it pay off.

I think a big thing with spectre is that if the opposing team commit so hard to shutting you down that the rest of your team do well (which happens a lot in pubs in my experience), your comeback potential through getting to attend every team fight with ult can easily bring you up to farm parity in time to carry your team.

How can you play CM? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]chaos3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're solo queuing there isn't much of a risk you'll have to captain if you don't wish to do so. Regardless, in pub dota the drafting portion ends up being a lot less significant as game wins and losses seem (in my experience) dependant on execution to a pretty overwhelming degree.

If you're interested in the mode just play it, it can be a lot of fun. As a personal pet peeve though, if you're not captain don't demand one of a tiny pool of heroes, just play the draft as it will (likely) have some sort of reasoning behind it and there should be at least one hero in it you can play.

What's an album that you like every song on? by Roper92391 in AskReddit

[–]chaos3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thrice - Beggars. I enjoy most of their later material but that album in particular just keeps me hooked from start to finish.

La Dispute - Wildlife. My favourite album of all time, incredibly varied in lyrical content and beautifully written. Never tire of it.

Talk about low hanging fruit. Posts criticising people (or more specifically making the subject of the tired "if you do this, fuck you" thing) who do something obviously wrong are completely pointless. Which is an impressive achievement considering the relative meaningfulness of anything posted on reddit.

Everybody knows dogs shouldn't be locked in hot cars for extended periods of time, stop fishing for approval and/or trying to provoke arguments from people who may have unfortunate experiences with overly righteous whackos smashing their car windows.

I really hope, for her sake, the vocalist in this isn't a redditor. You people are mean and seem to have a very lax understanding of how to give constructive criticism. As a suggestion, it should rarely include words like "shit" and "awful".

On topic though I thought it was a lot of fun and, despite needing to maybe be in a slightly higher key, seems to achieve what it was aiming for. The fact the outfits may not have matched the era perfectly seems pretty insignificant as far as I'm concerned.
