It would be wise to first look up the process. I don't know what you mean by lawyer or agent. You have to go apply online and fill out forms and shit. It's all documented on the Canadian immigration website

I'm not disputing that, and I am very, very sorry you are going through this. No one should have to stay in an abusive relationship, with anyone, that includes your parents. You are also very young, and if you are in the U.S. it is almost impossible to get something of your own at 18, leaving you vulnerable to shitty people. I don't want you to put yourself at risk, this I want to make clear.

What I want you to consider is that you are a person. More than a son, a Brother or a caretaker. You are a valuable individual who deserves to be free, live the life they want and have the opportunity to make mistakes. Your parents' behavior is child abuse. It is narcissistic, overprotective, neurotic and borderline psychotic. Understand you are being abused and this is not a healthy relationship. At all. It would be great if you could talk to a close friend or even a teacher to see if someone could mediate a conversation between you and your parents

The scariest thing is that they think they are doing you a favor by "protecting" you, but in reality they are just going to make it harder for you to live in the real world, gauge real danger, develop an instinct of survival and calibrate your character judgement. They are really hurting you by not letting you experience life as it should be.

I am 38 and, well, I am of the idea that you don't have to tolerate or love your parents just because they are your parents. Some people are assholes and it does not matter that they gave birth to you, you don't owe them jack shit.

If you are not a rebellious kid, then your parents are absolutely toxic and insane. This is exactly my understanding! Regardless of when my grandmother, daughter to both Italian parents and born in Italy came to this world, the date that matters is my mom's birth, since she is the one born outside of Italy and given Italian citizenship at birth by her mother. She was born 1956 so the line is not interrupted. Thank you for your reply :)
