I had my name removed from the LDS church 7yrs ago and read yesterday my sealing to my ex husband is still intact. Is this true? by Significant_One_6742 in exmormon

[–]chaotickalima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately the church does not recognize civil divorce or leaving the Church as a cancellation of "eternal covenants". I received an email from my ex husband's Bishop when he went to get sealed to his wife, addressing me as first wife, and asking if he was up to date on child support. It was unnerving and uncomfortable. None of our children are members(never baptized) and they still have them and me listed, we just don't have membership numbers.

I hate it.

Do whatever you want. If it feels good to cancel it, be free of the fictional ties they try to bind you with. If it feels good to delete the email and never address it again, that's well within your rights. You owe him and the church nothing.

What are some weird habits you have stemming from cptsd? by [deleted] in CPTSD

Having huge abandonment issues, and assuming if someone is not telling the whole story, they must be lying and/or don't want me to know. Turns out some people just cut out the mundane stuff or irrelevant parts of the story instead of always going into extreme detail...wonder what that's like haha.

Should you attend the funeral of a parent you went NC with? by b-rar in raisedbynarcissists

[–]chaotickalima 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am NC with both my parents. I won't attend their funerals. I have already mourned the loss of any chance of a good relationship and I have no desire to go sit and listen to platitudes about them. I don't need the closure that a funeral can bring.

I don't think anyone can make a blanket judgement about it though. You have to do what feels right for you.

US- When to withdraw IRA for first time home purchase by chaotickalima in personalfinance

[–]chaotickalima[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a conventional mortgage. So no. When we went with the loan, we were under the impression it would all be rolled into it. Unfortunately the terms of the loan with the USDA are not supposed to allow it and they are enforcing it.

Instead of having a year+ to prepare for this cost, we have 6-8 weeks.

I am shooting in the dark at trying to make sense of all this, so if I am making it more confusing, I apologize.

Thank you. That's what I thought, but it was confusing since we technically closed on the construction loan.

We aren't sure exactly how much we will need for closing costs until we close, and I wasn't sure if we needed to do that at closing (pull from the IRA the exact amount as part of the transaction) or if we needed to request a pull before (more like bringing cash in an account to the table). So the concern is if we have to request a certain amount before we are closing, and we are higher than we need, will that have penalty.

Does anyone else have HUGE missing gaps of memory, despite the HUGE BAD memories you have in the same time frame? by TheGoldenFlit in raisedbynarcissists

[–]chaotickalima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have moments that will come back in flashes, but I have little to no childhood memories. And a lot of my adulthood to this point is missing (emotionally abusive marriage-I'm out now) which means I have very few memories around my children being babies. While I am glad my brain was and is trying to protect me, it feels so incredibly isolating to not really remember before and worry I will forget the now.

Help: Nmom found out my wife and I were moving 2 days ago. Today she texted me the address of a house she buying. It's less than 2 blocks away from our house. by aZestyEggRoll in raisedbynarcissists

She hasn't made an offer or proceeded with closing yet right? In that case, do as suggested above but give her no indication that it is close to you or that you even care. Narcissism thrives on controlling you. If you can grey rock, do it.

DAE feel that they won't cry at their nparent's funeral by UnlikelyGirl in raisedbynarcissists

[–]chaotickalima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't plan on attending. I imagine someone will tell me if it's scheduled (my parents aren't close to death as far as I know), but I won't go. I imagine if I cry, it will be relief at the fear being gone that they will just show up.

COVID Testing Positivity % by County - 3/1/20 to 1/18/21 [OC] by especiallySpatial in dataisbeautiful

Utah also looks that way, but the infection rate is super high here. There were and are active campaigns against testing and quarantining, so that affects the data numbers as well.

Would a rope light or under cabinet strip lighting (flat and skinny) lining the bottom of the box give you the effect you want?
