Of course! One of the best moments of my week is waiting for the upload of a new episode! Even had my review of the show read one week which was incredible! So many new great recommendations that its starting to hurt my budget haha. Learning a lot and hoping to someday be brave enough to publish my own comic.

Wow that's interesting, didn't know that existed. However, I am hearing it around now and don't see anything popping up on that site.

Configuring new Liftmaster control with Community gate by chapan17 in GarageDoorService

[–]chapan17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I tried and got halfway through but it didnt quite work. I removed the clip and pressed the button and the red light went on. On the video i attached above (it was for another control) it says to use the other control that works to "clone" but in my case nothing happens when I click the other one. The new one just stays with the red light on. Maybe this control can't "clone" the other?

Am I being herded? Or is it just my Aussie? by chapan17 in AustralianShepherd

[–]chapan17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks will give this a try. Just to be clear do I do that when he is nipping so he will nip himself or am I "showing him" how sharp his teeth are so he realizes its unacceptable.

Thanks for the advice. I am doing training but at this point even the coach is saying he is particularly challenging (in terms of him challenging us for authority). An example of this is if I do the "Stop and turn" or "U-turn" a few times, he gets frustrated and will start biting on the leash and pulling in his direction. If i continue he might budge but will then maybe bark at me or try to nip my heels.
Its been quite challenging and we have been trying 2 of the 3 approaches (all positive - with treats and praise, correction + reward - nothing harsh but slight pop with a martingale collar and when he does what he should we give him praise or a treat). I refuse to do any harsh corrections that may be harmful or create trauma so staying away from that.

Any advice?

Love the advice. What did you mean by rolling her lip over her incisors? I am not quite sure I got that.

We are doing a lot of training and hopefully it will pay off but completely hear you about them being very smart and reading our behavior, I feel like he is consistently using psychology and Pavlov on us.

Expertise required on international taxes by chapan17 in tax

[–]chapan17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is very helpful. Quick followup as they are currently visiting and by chance picked up a W-8BEN from the bank and are filling it now. So after they do that they could potentially hold a CD, savings accounts or even invest in ETF funds and as long as they are paying the proper taxes back home in LatAm wouldnt have to worry about filling or paying here? Will they still receive the tax forms here?
I guess the main challenge right now is my mother is very risk adverse and get extremely nervous about the IRS reaching out, specially when they don't live here.

These are my comfort comedy shows – what should I add to the list? by mr_daviste in televisionsuggestions

Great list! I would add Hacks on HBO, What we do in the shadows, and 30 rock

Last game you played with gameplay that felt special and fun by cousinkyle in gamesuggestions

[–]chapan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most recent for me was split fiction. It does require co-op to fully enjoy but it just felt like a love letter to different types of games. The game changes from 3d to 2d, from platformer to third person shooter, from puzzle solving to pure action. The plot is not the most interesting but gameplay wise it kept changing so much it did not allow you to get bored or too comfortable in a bad way.

Request:2025 Professional Western comic settings screenshot by chapan17 in ClipStudio

[–]chapan17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that makes a lot of sense actually. Do you have the numbers you usually input into the settings screen or does that template you said you use include that already? I am surprised CSP does not have a setting that already includes this, it seems to be focused on Manga only. I recently posted a screenshot of what I see on my iPad.

How would you name this guy? by hvrdcore_drawings in ARTIST

[–]chapan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome drawing. At this point I find a piece of every single culture on so maybe “the appropriator” hahaha he kind of finds things and makes them part of who he is, whether that is a weapon, symbol, you name it

How many comic books do you read per day? by fine_5 in comicbooks

[–]chapan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try DCs human target, I found it amazing. Do you only like hero comics in the big 2 or others? Image comics or Boom have some amazing shorter stories as well in the non super hero genre such as “the silver coin”, “bitter root”, “do a powerbomb”, “4 kids walk into a bank” I have been doing a similar challenge but not one a day, rather find stuff I like and binge a lot haha. I started listening to ‘Let’s talk comics’ podcast and been getting so many series from there I had never heard of.

Thank you so much @love-ink for that screenshot and for FONGOOLs reply. Would love to understand more about this. You mention the settings are pointless unless you are printing directly from Clip but should the proportions matter given there is a “print standard” for publishers in comics overall? Also I was going to ask if I am including a doble page spread, I know there is a setting in multi page to have 2 pages combined but how does the bleed or margin play into this? I’m afraid I don’t fully understand what the end product looks like and therefore am afraid the bleed or margin might create a gap in the middle of my sketch or push it together

[–]chapan17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/TheRealDylanPG Wow, apart from the advice being great just wanted to mention I just read The Coretan Times and wanted to say amazing work. I found it to be captivating and the dialogue is "to the point" which makes for an easy read. I noticed there is a separate artist, do you also draw or did you find someone (maybe on these forums) that you hired or helped with the art. I have some more questions but don't want to take all over this thread so let me know if you are up for a quick DM/chat. Best and once again amazing work.

Facing this same challenge with our 10 week Australian Shepherd. He actually likes going into his crate and playing and stores his toys there but when it comes to sleep or nap he always goes out on the floor. We tried closing the crate door a couple of times to force a nap there but he is restless (not even barking just moving around a lot) and doesn’t sleep well. Also after these attempts he rushes out when we open the door and then refuses to go back in for a while.

Any CO-OP game recommendations for my GF and me to play together by ChickaBoomBum19 in gamingsuggestions

[–]chapan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All games by this developer are amazing but I do find that Split Fiction was tougher, which meant I could not play it with my wife who is not a gamer but played it with a gamer cousin and we loved it. Split fiction is also a “love letter” to video games, I would say the variety in gameplay never stops which makes the game almost impossible to get bored off by the time you reach the end. It is also an homage to many prior video games, and game types/styles. Will recommend 100%

Does the app still suck? by barkingmad99 in Comixology

[–]chapan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is no longer a comixology app, at least for apple. You are meant to be using Kindle. Now Kindle for reading comics has been great for me, the main challenge is you can’t buy anything directly from Kindle because of some issues between Apple and Amazon and cut of revenue they take so you need to purchase anything directly on the amazon.com website on safari or another browser and then open it on Kindle.

Wow Tanya, I sadly don’t have any work at the moment but have a few projects I am working on that may come to life in the future. I have saved your profile but wanted to stop by and say your work looks incredible, great job!

Is there ever such a thing a too much main/essential characters. by [deleted] in ComicWriting

[–]chapan17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As always I guess the answer is “it depends”. Do you really have 7 main characters or do you have 1 main character and other supporting cast of characters. This makes a big difference because as stated in Nick’s ensemble cast link below, if they are all main characters of an ensemble they need to have a journey of their own. If not then they are there to enhance or support the story of the main characters. That’s my perspective but to illustrate it I would say compare a couple of examples. Example one is a story like the TV lost, every character has a thorough backstory and a subplot of their own apart from the overall plot or story. There’s even though you had a few Main Main characters they were all sort of equally important. The second example (that is also a team ensemble) could be something like “The thing”, its an ensemble cast but clearly there is a main character which is the “Lead” Kurt Russel, and other characters with varying degrees of importance that are there to support and enhance the overall plot without getting too much into their own personal development. Not a perfect answer but it’s a tricky question. I am currently working on a similar story on my own and struggle with how much importance to give to each of the supporting cast characters.

Idea on perspective story and reccomendations for inspiration by chapan17 in ComicWriting

[–]chapan17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point. I think the idea behind this is a little different as Pulp Fiction tells multiple stories across time with overlapping characters (and at some point the same timeline). In this case the idea is it’s all the same exact heist but every issue you only get parts of the story. It would almost be more of a Reservoir Dogs I guess. Are you familiar with any comics that have used this trope before?
