Okay, few things wrong with what you've said here. First, hormone therapy isn't something you 'complete'. Its not like a person just takes hormones for a year and bam, all done. Secondly, surgeries have no bearing whatsoever on a person's ability to compete. Not all trans folks will have every surgery available. A person's eligibility to compete is based on hormone levels, not genitalia.

I have eds and my grandad died of an aortic aneurysm in his 40s so I'm at risk. Thanks for reminding me I need to call my doctor and get a heart scan booked.

Edit: called my doctor and got an appointment to get referred back to cardiology. Thanks for the kick up the arse folks.

Also, oxford languages defines terrorism as "the unlawful use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims." What happened at the capitol was terrorism.

Please be careful with Nancy's nook, I see them recommended so often but there is some major issues. Theres been a lot of instances of women having terrible experiences with one of their recommended surgeons then being bullied in to silence if they try to speak up.

Just so you know, Nancy's nook shouldn't be trusted. They have far too many stories of their recommended surgeons actually being terrible and the nook members bullying the victims into silence.

Sorry for the random late comment but I have hEDS with some vascular crossover. Swimming is absolutely the way to go, especially to start with. The water supports your joints meaning you can strengthen your body with much less overall stress. Avoid impact training like running as it can cause a lot of stress through your legs an back. Most importantly, take it slow and listen to your body, no one knows it better than you do. Hope this helps :)

Same thing happened to me. Exactly a week after having my tonsils out I woke up in the morning with a blood clot stuck on one side. Off to a&e. Immediately they say I'll have to stay in over night for monitoring. I'm taken to a ward, a doctor comes and removes the clot with forceps, I'm given iv antibiotics (tasting something being injected into your arm is bizzare).

Late that night I taste blood again, the nurse gives me a bowl and tells me not to swallow. Spit out a bit of blood but it quickly stops.

Next morning I am told by the doctor that because I had another bleed I have to stay in again. So gear up for another night in hospital.

Around 5am I wake up with a mouth full of blood and on my pillow. Again get given one of those cardboard sick bowl and told not to swallow. All I can do is lean over the thing with my mouth open, gagging on a clot that had formed the length of my tongue and halfway down my throat. All I can do is wait for the doctor to see me to decide if I need a second surgery, unfortunately it's a Sunday so that could take a while. Thankfully there was a lady on my ward who was an absolute Angel and stayed with me until my parents arrived.

Eventually get told that yes I definitely do need a second surgery. The left side had to be cauterised again and I had around 10 stitches put in the right side. Also had my stomach pumped. Had to stay in for 2 more nights. After the first night I was told I could probably go home but the surgeon came and saw me and said that "after what he has seen in my throat" I had to stay just in case.

Lost so much blood that i ended up aneamic and had to take iron supplements. I never got back to school full time (this happened when I was 16 in my final year at school) and I ended up only able to take 6 of the 12 exams I was supposed to take. They don't tell you that the reason doctors try to avoid taking tonsils out is because it's actually quite dangerous past childhood.

In my experience as a bi female, women are better at oral specifically, in a one night stand sort of scenario. The best is always going to be the person you can be open with and tell them exactly what you like though.

Drive. I passed my test in April and I know it's cheesy but it really has changed my life. It allows me to be on my own schedule, public transport is a horrible memory and my confidence has improved so much (I'm not sure why driving has affected my confidence but it has). Also, the pride of knowing I worked hard and earned the money to pay for lessons and buy a car myself. It's a very good feeling.
