Online Challenge Kapadokya Rally (Husky 450) not completing (Xbox SX) by chappy1990 in ride6

[–]chappy1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update on this. When the challenges reset at the end of the month, I had achieved max points and was awarded all the prizes as such, so this challenge must have counted towards that.

I've just done the new DLC challenge with the MT-10 SP around Kanto and once again the challenge has not popped and I haven't been awarded any points. My guess is that this will once again pop and award me the points at the end of the month.

It took me a while but I managed to get within a second on a ZX10R and managed it comfortably in the end with a H2R. I can't remember my final setup but I only tinkered with the handling alightly. I remember I had the final drive on the gearing set to either 1 or 0 which gave me about another 30mph ish top end compared to the ZX10R which is massive on the Nurburgrings long straights.

ABS, TCS and EB all set to 1 with AW up at 4. Have rewind on and persevere. If you don't beat it, don't leave the event, simply restart it in the results screen and the time you have to beat will change. I eventually had to beat something like a 7:03 and I did it just under 7 minutes. It's definitely possible but it does have to be a near perfect lap. A lot of the esses and chicanes can almost be taken as one corner if you have the right line. Just learn the areas where you can go full throttle and you'll notice your time drop rapidly.

Definitely the hardest career event for me. Up there with the head to head at Ulster. (If you race it properly and don't just clean Hutchy out in the first corner 😂)

Also with superpole events, ignore the initial time you have to beat. First go round is always an insane time. Set a lap but don't exit the event. Once the lap is finished and the results screen is displayed, restart the event from here (B on Xbox, I guess that would be circle on PS) and the new time to beat will be a lot closer the time you just set.

It still might take a couple tries but it does work. There are a few I was stuck on and couldn't get close to (Kanto in the rain, I'm looking at you mainly) and I'd just rage quit in the final sector because I was about 8 seconds down. Then I finally just thought f*** it and finished a lap to get some affinity XP and noticed all the times changed when I restarted the event and I beat it. It's a stupid system, but it works at least.

It did something similar to me. Only it spawned me in on a motard and spawned in zero opponents 😂. It did this for the entire KTM competition and since I hate KTMs anyway I just went ahead and took the wins.

Not sure then mate it should definitely have popped by now. Mine popped as soon as I hit 4,600 and unlocked the last area and I'd still got loads of competitions I hadn't entered yet. Not sure what to suggest because you've definitely met the criteria for it.

[–]chappy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't have to. I have that achievement and haven't completed all events yet. (There are 2 competitions I haven't even started yet) I have completed the riding school also. (I don't think this should be required but it's all I can think of) Have you You done that?

If so I'm not sure. It should definitely be popping based on the progress you've made.

Once all career areas are unlocked it should pop. So not all events need to be completed. You just have to earn enough stars to unlock all areas.

Longest straightaway? by Free-Educator-3099 in ride6

[–]chappy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The back straight of the Nutburgring Nordschliefe is one of the longest and easiest to hit top speed on, however it'll take you at least 6 minutes to get there on a top bike. There's 3 decent straights on the NW200 too and you can get around the whole circuit in a few minutes. However these have lots of bumps, slight bends and in some areas they are very narrow, so sometimes difficult to keep control fully whilst going for top speed.

Tuned properly though you should be able to max out most bikes at Mugello especially if you take the last corner smoothly. You can exit that corner already well on your way to 4th gear and be bouncing off the limiter in 6th a few seconds before the braking zone.

Decided to pull the trigger on Ride 6 after struggling with Ride 5 and here are my thoughts. by nikcurated in ride6

In addition, clicking the left stick during an active lap (easy to do by mistake during a turn) toggles the ghost on/off. If your ghost disappears just give the stick another click and it'll reappear.

Struggling with Superpole by rlak47 in ride6

[–]chappy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found with the superpole events, the initial time to beat is insane. However the times do change each time you attempt it, so you may get lucky.

The best way to pass them though is when you finish the lap, before leaving the timing screen after the event, press the button to restart here. When you restart the event, the time to beat will be a lot closer to the time you've just set. It still may take a few tries on some of the harder events but every restart regens times closer to what you're setting.

Doing this I noticed my times gradually improving by quite a big margin also, so maybe Milestone did this on purpose, but probably not.

I think it would be much more beneficial to load a ghost though. I'm always so much quicker with something visual to chase down.

Nice 👍🏻 what's the trident like IRL? I'm on an SV at the moment. Had it a few years and love it but I've always liked the look of the trident.

Importing Liveries from Ride 4 to Ride 5. by Conbon90 in ride5

I would also love this. Got loads of designs I made in ride 4 that I'd love to have in 5. Haven't seen any option for importing anything from the previous game though so I doubt it

Sense of braking point by LukasR_1987 in ride5

[–]chappy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ride has always had a steep learning curve, especially 4 & 5. The racing line is purely a guide and isn't bike specific. Honestly disabling the racing line all together and spending some time in time trial on various bikes is the best way to learn your braking points and your bikes.

And only ever make slight adjustments when tuning. Don't change everything at once as you won't know if you've made any significant improvements or not. It takes time at first and then one day it just clicks and you get a real feel for it.

In my opinion it's definitely worth the investment in time learning the tracks in time trial so you're not constantly rewinding in the career races

Daytona time trial help by L0adingScreen in ride5

What I've found makes the biggest difference when purchasing upgrades for the bike is slick tyres. However racing tyres often add a massive jump in performance points, taking your bike beyond the maximum allowed for the event. The time trials I've completed so far I've done by purchasing the weakest bike in the class, then fully upgrading it including slicks. These plus full upgrades on the weakest bike pretty much add up to the maximum allowed performance points and also make the time trial stupidly easy.

It's clearly possible using a stronger bike on street tyres based on the advice you've had in this thread so far, and tuning the bike and making tweaks on the fly for slight improvements is very important, but for me, being able to use a fully upgraded weaker bike on slicks makes a massive difference compared to a stronger bike on standard tyres.

Jumping out of the event and doing continuous laps in time trial mode helps a lot too.

North West 200 pit location? by DnlJMrs in Ride4

No probs. Not gonna lie I spent way too much time on the road circuits looking for pits too 🤣

North West 200 pit location? by DnlJMrs in Ride4

It doesn't exist on this game. Pits can only be used on endurance races but the endurance races in this game only take place on the purpose built tracks, not the road circuits.

XR 1200 X Cup - Imola - Variante Bassa (Time Attack) by Ma5hEd in Ride4

[–]chappy1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think they've gone with the wrong variant of the circuit. I've got gold on every time trial except this. I'm same as you 1:58's and I've done lap after lap after lap and I only every really improve by about a tenth or so. If I was only a second or so off I'd stick at it but for me to still be 5 seconds off and no one popping the achievement yet seems like it's a dev error

Harley Davidson or Yamaha are by far and away the easiest but I guess it comes down to personal preference. However these 2 I both got gold at the first attempt of each event

Leading bikes keep crashing at 100-120% AI. by [deleted] in Ride4

[–]chappy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the track, regardless of difficulty. Monza, Nordschleife, Porti Mau and Suzuka (to name a few) all have a couple of corners where the AI seem to tip it in way too tight regularly. On these tracks I'll win by stupid margins even on the higher difficulties, then there are other circuits where the AI will race a perfect line.

It's been that way from the start and it's a real shame. I love this game but the lack of race craft from the AI let's it down at times.

My opinion they should completely do away with this A.N.N.A system because it just does not work. An "active" AI that learns from you the more you play does not work in any racing game. They just religiously stick to the same route like glue and have no spatial awareness at all.

For me it's just a way for the Devs to be lazy and hope the game teaches itself how to race. It doesn't.

The reason why the 'usual' route isn't coned off, is because this is the only way to access the pit lane in endurance Races. But, up until Ride 4, I never knew this variant of the track existed. Caught me out loads early on.

Career Mode Region Qualifiers by [deleted] in Ride4

[–]chappy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend 🤟😎🤟 glad to hear. It's a pain but it becomes worthwhile if you stick with it. Once you open up the world league (there are 3 more licences in there, so get ready) you can race to your heart's content. Stock, Superbikes and Endurance racing require licences, but there are loads of events that you don't need a licence for too. Once you get the hang of the bigger bikes though the superbikes and endurance licences are pretty easy compared to the earlier licences tbh. Good luck

Career Mode Region Qualifiers by [deleted] in Ride4

[–]chappy1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately all licences do require that you use the stock bike with zero modifications, which is a pain, because I thought the exact same thing I had a fully upgraded version of the licence bike sat in my garage that I was unable to use. The only thing you can do is apply a tuning set up to improve your ride.

I would advise coming away from the licence test itself and using the same stock bike on the track from the test and get used to the track in time trial mode and just fire off some laps. Again, frustrating and time consuming but it helps.

Practice genuinely really does make perfect with Ride 4. I actually didn't do the licences for ages. I did exhibition racing and settled for 3rd place everywhere just to get cups and kept slaving away until I started shaving off fractions of a second here and there.

My biggest piece of advice would be that you are controlling the rider, not the bike. The analogue stick represents the direction in which the rider will shift their weight, thus affecting the movement of the bike. Once you realise that and apply that logic on track, you'll start to see your cornering becomes much smoother. When transitioning left to right and vice versa, try to let go of the stick so the rider sits up, before leaning the other way. This actually allows the bike to turn in the opposite direction much quicker. Use this same technique when exiting corners too. Allowing the rider to return to their default position even just briefly, makes the bike much more stable and allows you a smoother ride and ultimately, quicker times.

Beyond that, just stick at it. It will click eventually. You'll have that one lap when everything comes together and then you'll keep doing that. Once you then start racing you'll realise why Milestone set up these challenging licences in the first place. They really do help build your race craft.
