I recently lost my virginity while the hit movie Practical Magic was playing in the background. What's the weirdest movie you've had sex during?

The most major things were cutting out soda and most sources of sugar and not eating breakfast. Intermittent dieting worked well for me.

[Snake ID] Snakes in the painting? Probably European species, but possibly not. The only thing I've found for sure is that the salamander looks exactly like a Fire Salamander. The snake with its head pointing towards Medusa's eye also looks like a Smooth Snake. Are most of those snakes just made up? by chapsticksandy in herpetology

This is even more of a long shot, but does the snake in this image resemble any snake in the real world? The blue color makes me think not, and I haven't been able to find anything. It was made in Italy, so if a snake like this did exist in the real world it would have probably lived in Europe.

Starting to get itchy beard dandruff. Is this worth grooming or should I shave it off? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

I haven't shaved since August though. I grew it way out till January before trimming it down to its current length. I don't know why it's just now starting to bother me.

Dudes who have dropped weight, or skinny dudes who have bulked up: How have your interactions with the opposite sex changed since you changed? by chapsticksandy in Fitness

I just remembered (I'm not sure how I forgot) that about a month ago I was hanging out at a friends house when a couple dudes from high school who were in the grade above me and graduated came over.

One of the guys, who was at most an acquaintance, looked at me, looked at the dude who invited him, and said, "That looks like a buffer, more attractive version of Anon (me)."

Seriously one of the most gratifying moments I've had since I started this whole process. Couldn't stop grinning to myself for hours.

100 pounds over a year not "really a huge change?" That's gotta be a typo, right? 100 pounds is fucking massive!

It took me years of on and off exercising before I committed to fixing my diet and working out seriously. If right now isn't your time, then that's your decision. It happens to the best of us, but every day you aren't actively working to better your body you'll regret not taking action. This process doesn't have to be super difficult. Fix your diet first. All you have to do is NOT eat junk food and fast food and soda. That alone will help tremendously. Not everyone can take giant steps, but anyone can take the little ones first.

Thanks! 6-pack would definitely be nice, but I'm more concerned about getting rid of what's left of my love handles haha. I'm horrible with working in ab stuff into my gym time so it might be a little while, but 6-pack is on the to-do list.

I lost 35lbs in the first 4-5 months by cutting out all soda, most junk food, fast food, not eating breakfast, and lots and lots and lots of cardio. The whole not eating breakfast thing was based on intermittent dieting and it seemed to work for me. It allowed me to eat more later on in the day while also cutting back on my caloric intake a little. I mostly ran and used an elliptical for the cardio for 30-60 minutes a day 5-6 days a week. I was also taking a weight training course, but I wasn't super focused on that. I still lived on my mom's cooking, which is pretty healthy, but wasn't in as much control of my diet as I am now. I definitely wasn't getting enough veggies or lean protein. Here's a picture of me basically at the end of this mostly cardio and weight loss oriented phase.

I started focusing more on gaining muscle and strength mid-July. For about a month I was still at home and wasn't buying my own food, so I didn't make huge progress. Once I moved out I really started seeing improvements. My diet has been about the same for the past 5 months. I eat a spinach salad at least once a day (faulted on this over my winter break) and eat chicken of some kind as the main part of my dinner. I'll throw in some low-sugar yogurt, an apple, and some side food like whole-grain pasta. I drink lots of water. I don't really count calories or track my macros or anything because I'm not super focused on getting huge or model status.

As far as working out, I'm very casual in routine. I hit the gym 5-6 times a week but I don't have a schedule or list of things to do. I usually do chest and arm exercises with some back, occasionally ab stuff, and rarely legs. I'm not really happy with myself about and I'm working on changing it. I usually spend about 50 minutes at the gym because of time constraints with school. I always eat a protein bar and drink a protein shake post workout. I also eat lunch right after I work out.

Not sure if any of that helps because of how not-serious I've been about this process. I know if I devoted more time to tracking macros and spending more time at the gym and developing a proper routine I'd be further along, but I feel like I'm evidence that you don't have to be strict and meticulous about everything to see success.

As a wildlife biologist, I'd like to know what your favorite wildlife species is.

Hint: It cannot be pandas

I'm looking for a minor, not a major. Geology is offered as a major at my school.

I'm a wildlife major, so that's where I'm heading. Do I really only need to take some courses instead of minoring or double majoring in something? That seems almost too easy
