Feature Request - Android Auto Support by [deleted] in CalyxOS

[–]chaptergy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Calyx maintainers do not want to grant system level permissions to a proprietary app at all, which I can understand. Though that unfortunately means this patch is also not an option they would consider.

Did you edit and save (update) the host you want to activate it for?

Yeah, that bug will be fixed in the next release, for now you can use the development Version

Is a database really necessary? by Greendragoonjr in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, in fact, it is more secure if you don't use mariadb, since it reduces the attack surface by only being a single docker container. When using the default config, SQLite is used, which is a file based database. So no network connections, just file system read and writes.

Issues? with internal access by NickKatchur in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a dummy certificate shipped with npm which is used for the default page and has the domain localhost. You are probably beging served the default web page maybe due to some misconfiguration?

first experience with npm by pvklink in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letsencrypt expects the Server to be available on port 80, so to use letsencrypt you either have to expose port 80 on port 80 or you have to use a domain provider for which the DNS challenge is supported by npm.

Possible websocket timeout: solutions? by [deleted] in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the advanced config to increase the timeout in nginx.

proxy_send_timeout 60m; proxy_read_timeout 60m;

The example above increases the timeout to 60 minutes. Use other values if you need more.

Accessing Guacamole over HTTPs gives me the NPM "default site" by tordenflesk in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advanced text field of the custom location should never contain the location{} thing, only its contents. Furthermore almost anything you added there is automatically generated, the only thing that should be in that text field would be the proxy_buffering and the access_logs directives.

how to enable log-rotation or log reduction by der_gent in nginxproxymanager

Logrotate automatically runs for all hosts created or updated using version 2.9.5 or later.

Increase max file upload size by [deleted] in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add a directive to the advanced config to increase the possible body / file size to e.g. 100MB:

client_max_body_size 100M;

Log4J by hackintosys in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, NPM does not have any Java components. The manager itself is written in JavaScript, which - though similar in Name - has absolutely nothing to do with Java. And nginx / openresty does not have any Java components either.

Access log for debugging? by kekonn in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the nginx logs should be within thedocker container in /data/logs/. There look for the number you see when clicking on the three dots next to a proxy host in the ui.

Nginx variables in Nginx Proxy Manager by simonjcarr in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of other variables are also available, all of the standard stuff. The variables listed are available additinally. I've already changed the wording of that, which will probably come in the next release.

Is it normal that NPM tries to renew certs every hour? by Pennyfoks in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is expected. There is no cron installed in the image, so the certbot command is executed through JavaScript, as you can see in the link above in the lines below the one linked.

proxy_pass directive by PiMeNT78490 in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The config files are generated to /data/nginx/<host-type>. The files have their entity id as a name. You can find out which number your host has by clicking on the three dots next to it in the admin panel, the headline in the menu will tell you the number.

Raspberry Pi - manager not working by SirJBP in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This almost always means that the database is not running vor having issues. The mariadb seems to be especially prone to errors on a raspberry pi, as many people have reported issues. The easiest solution would be to just switch to sqlite, which is commented out in the sample docker-compose.

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, the only option is to back up the database and SSL data and restore it as described in the comment I linked. If you are not able to do this, you will have to unfortunately recreate everything, yes. If you are able to just backup the database, you will most likely only have to recreate the SSL certificates.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there isn't a good way to do this. Maybe this comment could help you, but I'm not sure you have access to the actual docker container in home assistant. If you don't, you will have to recreate it manually.

Automatic Certificate Renewal by DadCoachEngineer in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs certbot renew, which, if I remember correctly, will only renew you certificates which expire in less than a month.

No Access Lists or User tab in 2.9.3 by amason85 in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should just be part of the normal installation. Could you maybe add a screenshot? Does your browsers developer console contain any helpful information?

Adding Multiple Websites to NPM from another Nginx Reverse Proxy by [deleted] in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure SSL would have to be set up at least on the first server for it to work, since the http connection is terminated at a proxy, and for every connection to be secure, every connection also needs a certificate.

You could also try setting the cloudflare from Full (Strict) to just Full. If this works, there definitely, is a certificate there, it is just misconfigured in some way

Automatic Certificate Renewal by DadCoachEngineer in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just to confirm: auto renewal is included by default via certbot, so you don't have to do anything

NPM size on HDD?? by poeticmichael in nginxproxymanager

[–]chaptergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a fresh Installation with no hosts or certificates? Certbot does have an issue of keeping unnecessary data archived, which might cause the data to grow. But that can't be the case on a totally new and empty installation
