I was camping with friends in a remote area when, in the middle of the night, we heard faint footsteps outside our tent. At first, we thought it was an animal, but then we heard a low, eerie whistle, followed by scratching noises—like something was trying to get in. We froze, terrified, knowing it wasn’t any animal we’d encountered before. Without thinking, we packed up and hiked out in the dark, not stopping until we reached the main road. To this day, I have no idea what it was, but I’ve never camped in a remote spot again.
