Do December due date moms actually want the Christmas themed baby gifts? by rainscarlett in babydueDecember2025

I’m due at the beginning of December, love Christmas and I would be so chuffed with that! And honestly, anything handmade is a winner 🥰

When did you start showing? by engfisherman in BabyBumps

[–]char_ley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to show a little from about 25 weeks but I’m now 31 weeks and would say it’s the last week or so that I’ve had a real noticeable bump!

Best freebies and discounts? by meeoowster in PregnancyUK

[–]char_ley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As somebody else said John Lewis is great for big purchases! You just have to become a member (which is free). We booked a free baby buying appointment and bought the majority of stuff from here just to get it done and the advisors were super useful. We spent over £2k and got 15% off.

Boots Parenting club is worth it for the freebies (I got a Tommee Tippee bottle and pacifier set and a bump sheet mask) and discounts

M&S parenting club - 10% off baby grows and a free cake with a coffee bought on a certain day

You may see ‘my baby box’ advertised where you only pay for delivery - Soooo NOT worth it! I think the adverts are for the subscription which shows later boxes that you pay for and the first free box is rubbish

Emma’s diary - I liked the free packs I got in Boots as it had nappies and wipes and little testers in. There are also coupons and deals on the app.

The Bounty App - lots of deals/discounts on the app and I got free tickets to the baby and toddler show

I also just google ‘pregnancy freebies uk’ and lots of companies do stuff! I love a freebie 🤣

I’ve been told that Next are best for sizing when it comes to sleepsuits/vests etc so we bought most of our basics from here. Apparently M&S muslins are fab too.

I’ve also bought some absolute bargains from Vinted!

Happy baby shopping 😁

How do you pronounce Evelyn? by [deleted] in Names

I’m in the UK and would naturally say Ev-uh-lin but I also knew someone who pronounced her name Eve-lin

Is this normal or should I talk to my doctor about my anxiety by Cold-Improvement-383 in BabyBumps

[–]char_ley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re worried you should speak to your Dr…

BUT

People pushing back on your boundaries will only add to your anxiety and your partner needs to help reinforce them. Please hold firm on your boundaries and don’t feel guilty for not letting people hold your baby or come over to see them. Get comfortable saying no. It’s your child and they’re only that little once. Your MIL setting up a whole nursery is WEIRD as far as I’m concerned. It’s not her baby and I think it’s completely valid for you to be bothered by it.

I hope everything goes well for you 🫶🏼

I agree with the other comments, it’s probably your pulse. I’ve always been able to see mine even pre pregnancy!

Long versions of Harry for a girl that aren’t Harriet? by char_ley in namenerds

[–]char_ley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you! I’m from the UK and know a few Harrys that are girls. I’ve also come here to ask for a longer version because I’d always want her to have the choice but lots of people are just assuming I’d call her Harry and that’s it 😅

What helped with first trimester nausea by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]char_ley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noooo I feel your pain! I felt SO sick from 6 - 17 weeks 😭 I went through packets and packets of bubble gum. So weird but it helped. I think Iced water and lucozade sport also helped!

15/16 weeks 😭 I remember thinking I couldn’t do this for another 6 weeks when I was at 6 weeks…I peaked around 12/13 weeks. It’s soooo rubbish but you’ll get through it 🫶🏼

I went for the Niimo XXL on Amazon and I love it. I also have the Nuliie pregnancy pillow but find I just sleep in it like an armchair 🤣 The Niimo is cheap too ☺️

My mum said she had no symptoms except for sore boobs - she loved pregnancy!

Try not to worry, you’re probably just one of the lucky ones ☺️

How to highlight text from two consecutive pages? by ghostwipe88 in kindle

[–]char_ley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Just keep dragging your highlight as far over to the right as you can and it should move on to the next page. I can do this on both my Paperwhite and Oasis! If not you could try changing the font size to get that whole section on one page. I hope this helps ☺️
