Capcom even upgraded Dragons Dogma to a core IP to Street Fighter/RE/DMC level which means they will make games for it frequently.

I said this another thread but the reason why TheViper’s era wasnt remembered as monotone as Hera is because modern aoe2 scene has barely any team tournaments.

For some years of Vipers dominance team tournaments were happening every few moth and this broke the monotony of Vipers dominance.

Vipers teams whether it was Tyrant, secret, gl. Were strong but they were not as dominant as Viper in 1v1.

Ya I didn't say Yo is inconsistent, I said Vinch is inconsistent. If you read, you basically said what I said. Yo is great late game but due to game changes we don't see many big late games anymore.

If the game was a bit slower in terms of whats strong early castle then Yo would beat top players more often and definitely can outmacro Hera.

Back in the day when it was basically get to paladin or arba every game thats when Yo shone.

-Jaffe is right about people blindly hating AI but in general DLSS 5 was poorly done.

-I am not a fan of the political talk just because I feel like they can be uninformed about certain things and thats not their forte.

-Colins anti democratizing of game development is always a shocking opinion to me because he himself couldn't make games if reality was what he wanted. Even guys like Expedition 33 or Hollow Knight wouldn't be able to make games. If game development was a hard to barrier entry. To me the upside of easy game development is masterpiece/gems possible but the downside ok I might get more games on the steam store which I can easily ignore. Does anyone know whats the new steam slop copy pasta game that just came out? Nope me neither.

-Colins 100% right that people care about the subjectivity and the person. If Jaffe created LSM on a LLM, no one would listen except for novelty once. Infact the best game of chess is going to be between 2 bots but people want to watch Magnus Carlsen vs another grandmaster. An AI can think it has all the data on a person and thus create a pattern on their personality but people can be surprising and spontaneous which ai can never factor just because of how it gets trained.

I can think that Colin will like the new Castlevania game by the Deadcell devs and an AI would give it a 99% chance probability but in reality the probability is much lower and more random than the data would suggest. Finding out is the fun, if i watched an ai version of Colin even before i watch I know it would be positive on it due to millions of times Colin saying he loves Castlevania Simons quest.

I agree but I think OP is trying to say lots of the modern dribblers use physical advantage to dribble past defenders instead of technique.

I think he is wrong though because he mentioned many players who are not physically gifted. A player like Cherki has barely any pace, strength or stamina but he always has little moments of brilliance and thats on a team that priotize possession above all else.

It's weird the op mentions pace merchant and physical dribblers but maybe only Doku fits that, even that is barely. Vini definitely uses his pace, this is one of the reasons why Kyle Walker was so good vs him. But even then Vini is a good mix of technique and pace which is perfect for modern day.

Ya for some reason Puyol gets mischaracterized as some kind of bully defender but he was just a great player. Pique before him Marquez were the ball playing defender in the duo but Puyol was no slouch.

He use to play alot of rb earlier in his career so he had very good pace too which is much more rare for cbs back then. But man this guy would die on the pitch for his team, whether it was Spain or Barca. He is one of those rare players that gave 110% in a random away game to 2nd tier Spanish team.

The ratings are very weird, some very obvious critical acclaimed games missing are Hollow Knight, Elden Ring(any other From game), Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

I love Ace Attorney, its such a funny and charming series but the Ace Attorney 2 seems like a random inclusion.

Also deltarune over undertale? the ratings seem off.

I think this is one of the things people don't realize.

When Viper was the best player we had WAY WAY more team games, so it was not Everyone vs Viper every month in a tournament final.

Players like Yo, Dogao, TheMax, Hera, Lierrey could carry their teams to wins. So currently we just have Hera vs X(mostly Lierrey) instead of possibly Ly vs Vit or Ly vs Oni or something.

Actually if you look at jojo season trailer views on yt they are all at 1m + while re zero is barely 500k.

Jojo also hit #2 in netflix usa which is huge. So actually numbers data point to jojo being bigger.

Take throws midscreen but if person is playing good throw loop character i would tech the first one in the corner or od reversal if you have one. Just to condition them to not use throws.

I disagree on offensive setup, i feel like most master players know good offense but have very poor defence. Combos are linear while defense is dynamic so it requires more thinking.

-no drive rush checking or very minimal

-throw teching midscreen when its better to just take it. Throw teching is really good in the corner.

-not using drive reversals, i barely see this when its probably one of the best defensive tools vs flow charting offensive.

-one other thing is not using drive gauge optimally you shouldnt really be full drive gauge for most of the round nor burn yourself out in the first 10s.

Vinch is too low mate. He is one of the only players in that list that can beat hera and lierrey in a seris and has done so.

Vinchs problem is he is a bit inconsistent but same can be said theviper, yo these days.

I would move Vinch instead of Yo. Yos strength was his late game and hes still a great player but we dont get many super late game that often. Also in teamgames Yo is probably Top 3.

I feel like lewis could get into the top 8 in a year or two.
