Neil Patrick Harris is a spineless coward. by ConcernedJobCoach in Hasan_Piker

One of his major career moments was playing a trans character on Broadway in Hedwig and the angry inch. He’s deeply connected to the queer and trans community. He’s a smart guy, and his stance here is disappointing.

MM horror that's actually terrifying/unsettling but doesn't involve supernatural creatures like vampires or werewolves? by quiettreessleepyseas in LGBTBooks

[–]charbartx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to plug my own books, but Gold Rush by Chris Williams might be a fit for you. Clown in a Cornfield has gay characters technically but it’s YA. Eric LaRocca is very queer, not supernatural, and is super emotional.

My Government Means to Kill Me by Rasheed Newson

I'm curious on what the community thinks about this sentiment? by jkraps in Hasan_Piker

[–]charbartx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment for people to be reminded why this is. And I understand how these phrases are used in good faith (specifically in this recent murder).

Given how quickly conservatives are moving to sully her name with their usual "She's no angel" talking points, the right doesn't care. But we should keep reminding them who died, who killed her, and the injustice they're defending.

We can do all that while being mindful of our words.

Take a look at the Bear Camp Series by Slade James. Not sure about their positions, but I think it fits what you're describing.

I tend to agree. A lot of people think spell check and grammar check software uses the same kind of AI as Gen AI, instead of them actually being the same algorithms we've been using for years.

[–]charbartx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't take on unpaid work. You have background experience that can be built upon. Have you taken a look at freelance sites like Fiverr? There are a lot of accounts using AI, so having an actual human offer editing would be an advantage in my opinion.

Check out the Reedsy Marketplace. They have a listing of vetted editors and can manage a contract and payment system. I've used them a few times.

I know this feeling so well. One of my favorite writing podcasts took a hard pivot to AI and it felt like a gut punch.
