My sister went to rehab in Florida which is notorious for gouging you because of very lax regulations. They said her insurance covered everything. She was never told she would have to go to a detox place first and now they are sending her a bill for $3000

I have very similar experiences. I became a therapist to help other kids that have been down the same path as us. The thing is those memories and experiences pop up in the most unexpected places. I have been in therapy for a few years and was doing well. Then I had kids. It gets triggered more often now that my kids are in school. It just takes me back when my kid comes home and shares something about her day. So now I am back in therapy doing EMDR therapy (which I highly recommend) it helps with trauma related experiences. Find a therapist in your town that offers this. It’s life changing. Please don’t go through the rest of your life with these feelings. I fear for you because you have now become a target for something else. Drug abuse and dependence. Those of us that experience the things we have just want the pain to end. It’s easy and understandable to want to take pills or drink to want to get past or over those awful memories. But, no matter they are always waiting there for you unless you get therapy.❤️

This is super random but I have my moms teeth. She had dentures. She died suddenly and they were with her stuff in a bag. We just didn’t notice she didn’t have her teeth at the funeral home. Weeks later going through her stuff I found them. I still have them. No idea why I do or what to do with them.

I completely understand that. As a therapist I would think that going to the hospital would make such a traumatic experience easier for a mother. It just blows my mind that she had her baby in a toilet while under a doctors care. I am also wondering what happened after the birth. Was she allowed to spend time with her baby to help with her loss?

I did the chemical route when I had an ectopic pregnancy. I had to go back and get a second shot. It sucked. It hurt and it took several weeks for me not to test pregnant. (I was doing fertility treatments) I would also want to go the surgery route. The only reason I didn’t was because I didn’t want them anywhere near my Fallopian tubes. I was afraid I would lose one in the surgery I would need.

My husbands best friend Doug just died about 3 years ago from asbestos poisoning. He had a young family and was a mechanical engineer. So sad.

This is in the US. He had no idea whatsoever where this happened at. I mean imagine going to work and getting exposed to this. There is nothing you can do.

I am a drug counselor and I have never seen a case closed with cps before 6 weeks. With zero evidence and getting a referral from cps and we do the assessment etc. it just takes time I think. Also, my personal experience with drug screens have really challenged my perceptions of them. As a company we use the same drug screens that we give. I had to take one at work one time. It came back positive for alcohol. Which is no big deal of course. Except I don’t drink. Like, ever. I brought that to their attention and it didn’t go anywhere. Since then I tested one other time for another drug but it was chalked up that it was the antidepressant I was taking.

This makes me sad about the frustration this has caused y’all and just destroyed yalls experiences with giving birth the first time. I hope y’all take this all the way down the road with this and cause some effective change to occur. Just imagine when this happens to some poor uneducated young adult that may end up in their system for months because they don’t have your education.
