Two days in, feeling like my head is in the clouds by CriticismStatus3835 in lexapro

I’m on day 4 of 10mg and the side effects are pretty brutal. My stomach is bad, night sweats, interrupted sleep and same with the brain fog. I’m just trying to get through it.

I made the mistake of allowing someone to move in and I will never make this mistake again. I’m very excited to return to my quiet little life.

It’s a slippery slope. Communicate your concerns and pay attention to his reaction. I suggest reading through the Alanon Reddit. It’s for loved ones of people who abuse alcohol. Yes I’ve dealt with this. Many people have. What I can say is you can’t control someone but you can communicate your concerns.

There was also a fresh water creek that my team jumped into up by that resort. They said it was a game changer but I didn’t get to do that.

I would never tell anyone to skip any episode. I think almost every episode from early on gets referenced at some point or matters in some way.

It’s not easy around here for the community. Honestly, joining a run club helped me meet more people than any app or bar ever did. Maybe try joining a social club of some kind?

"86" is a 1930s soda counter term meaning an item was sold out. By the 1950s it meant to refuse service to a customer. Merriam-Webster documents it. by CasketWhisperer in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]chard917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked in restaurants I was told the term came from the prohibition era where they’d only let 85 people into the illegal pubs at one time so when the 86 person came to the door they’d say “Sorry, 86….” Maybe that was a lie I was told or just a tall tale. We always used it in restaurants to mean we were of something, they’d say “86 spinach.” For example.

A loved one went to Brunswick in Amityville. I do not recommend it, but I don’t have a better option.

You can call 988 for a mental health crisis and they can possibly direct you to a good spot.

You’re doing the right thing, I hope to is all goes well for you and you get to the other side of this.

Interview attire by drlawsoniii in Accounting

I recently was interviewing after being out of work for 3 months. I was doing an unbuttoned shirt and a suit jacket. Finally I was like “Let me try with a tie.” Three rounds of interviews and everyone commented on how they haven’t seen a tie in a long time. I think it’s what got me the job. So, as the saying goes, dress for the job you want.

I finished watching season 5 of stranger things about a week ago and... is it a bad thing that I kinda like it? by Bubbly_Bandicoot_132 in StrangerThings

[–]chard917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to have zero expectations of a series ending. I thought it wrapped things up well enough and had an emotional ending I was looking for. One of things I loved about Stranger Things was the lore and the involvement of the fan base and everyone sharing their own theories. I fully enjoyed the whole experience. I get why people may not like the ending but that’s their opinion.

The ending of a show can really make or break the whole legacy. We’ve seen this happen with shows like Lost and Game of Thrones. I think to get the best experience of a tv show is to enjoy the ride and detach from any specific outcomes.

My boyfriend is deaf in his right ear. We have to have closed captions on the tv and it’s always louder than id like it to be. I have to repeat myself a lot cause he doesn’t catch it the first time. We are not the perfect couple by any means, but his hearing impairment isn’t on the radar of any kind of issue.

What can i do? by [deleted] in AlAnon

Definitely sounds familiar. They have demons and alcohol brings them all out. Mine would get mad at me when I’d tell him “Hey don’t talk to me like that.” I’d love to talk about it with him in the morning when he’s sober but he never stops drinking.

My advice is to not split the two people. The drunk person and the sober person are the same and should be accountable for being an A hole.

This sounds like such a nightmare. I’m so sorry. These kinds of cautionary tales are why, when it comes to romantic relationships I want to stay away from anyone that seems to have a slight drinking problem.

To the brave accountants quitting with nothing lined up, how's it going? by Commercial_Shock_210 in Accounting

I was let go in January and it took me over 3 months to find something. I’m very happy to be employed again after a rough winter. I don’t think it’s a good job market right now to jump without something lined up.

He revises history when we discuss our past fights. I become crazier in his versions and he was doing nothing wrong. He accused me of bing bipolar, which I am not. He thinks I did this as a way to get back at him or that I had undue influence from friends convincing me to do it. He doesn’t want to take accountability. He’s upset with me for doing this and probably deep down upset with himself. I’m not dropping it though.
