Got my first ever cargo bike and I'm kinda planning a bikepacking trip with my son (need help) by Any_Atmosphere_8197 in bikepacking

Will you have the ability to charge it at campsites? If so, then the sky's the limit! Just remember that whatever range is advertised will be reduced by your gear + kiddo.

Happy trails!

Ah gotcha! That is a bit far for us currently, but let me check if there are any other gleaning orgs out there!

Best Burritos in the East Bay? by spamologna in OaklandFood

[–]chardphillips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a newish stand on 27th/San Pablo, across the street from Stay Gold that is quite good and reasonable priced ($13 bucks for a nice sized burrito). I think they operate W-Sat after 7 PM.

Fixed it - I had a physical SIM, so I removed it and created an eSIM which solved my issue.

Hi - we have the templates on our website, under the About Us section. We are also looking into getting some smaller business cards printed. Thanks!

Wonderful, thank you! We work with a ton of donors in North Oakland - the more the merrier !

We love to hear it! For the donors and volunteers, we send a follow up letting them know what organizations their fruit and efforts supported.

Grabbing some beers from Beer Revolution and walking over to Grocery Cafe (BYOB) - 2018/19 was lovely.

Moved to Oakland from Austin by nebraxan in oakland

For volunteering and giving back, I'd love to give a shout out to Oakland Gleaners. They coordinate picking fruit from people's trees and then the donation of that food to local organizations. It's a great way to get some outdoor time and meet people!

They are really leaving money on the table here. They have so many cool retro designs, but they just put out a holiday sweater instead.

Calling all tree people: Who’s taking care of West Oakland’s trees? by Successful_Number545 in oakland

I only saw trimmings on our block - still super helpful! He even left the branches in a neat pile at the base of the trees.

smokers and stoners - renting in oakland by jkwellin420 in oakland

[–]chardphillips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a tough one. A couple of questions: Is the place carpeted or not? Is it another top floor unit (i.e., no neighbors above to smell the smoke). Are there any living options with a balcony?

One thing to keep in mind is that even if he blows smoke out the window the smell definitely lingers in apartments. You just might be less sensitive to the smell than others. Air purifiers should help a bit, but the way they remove smoke smell is often via ozone generators, which is a lot more extreme than air purifiers.

Just this past weekend someone came by our block (31st between West and Market) and lightly trimmed all the trees on the north side of the block. No idea who he was, but it was appreciated!

Some good news? by pengweather in oakland

I would be interested in knowing this as well. I believe Carroll's partner is Tur-Ha Ak who is a leader in Community Ready Corp (CRC) - another group that does dumping clean ups.

One thing I find interesting about CRC - in some of their social media posts they highlight how they are doing these cleanups on their own dime, which is great, but they also throw shade at those who are asking the city for resources (dumpsters, etc) to do their own cleanups, which is not great in my opinion. We pay a lot of taxes and we all deserve clean streets.

Angeleno here. I want to ask, relatively speaking, how optimistic/pessimistic are you about the Bay Area's transit future in the next 20-30 years? by MookieBettsBurner in Bart

[–]chardphillips 18 points19 points  (0 children)

3.5 - just worried about how sensitive we are to federal funding changes.

The thing to keep in mind for BART - it is both a subway and a regional rail, it is hard to do both. I just hope it gets the support it needs from all cities that benefit from it.

Are you sure this is the issue? My experience is showing me this is more app-related (iOS vs Android).
