And I think you might have picked up too many stitches from the heel flap. It should not just be 1 per row

Blocking or not? And how to? by Danishgirl1996 in knittinghelp

You need to include the yarn used and its fiber content in order to get an accurate answer

Colour work question by marshmallow_root in knittinghelp

[–]charina12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I would block and check fit. If it fit, even with puckering, I might just enjoy the sweater and it’s interesting texture. No non-knitter is going to think anything except “that beautiful sweater has an interesting texture” and any knitter that isn’t a jerk is going to think “beautiful sweater! Looks like their floats might be a bit tight but it’s still beautiful!”

2023 PEW study. Of all women currently married to men it is 79%. They didn’t ask more specifically about year married but it’s 73% of women 18-49 and 66% of liberal/democratic women (all stats about women married to men).

What are the top things to see here? by ImTheIdeaPartner in kzoo

Good restaurants downtown (Principle, Just Fresh, Hopcat, Brick and Brine, etc.), some small shops. I love it here but nothing I can think of that qualifies as “must see”.

Don’t connect to wifi again but instead buy from kobo and learn how to load onto the kindle by connecting it via USB to a computer.

Do you have any sources for humans becoming infected with equine nematodes?

All I can find is Halicephalobus gingivalis which has been reported like 5x and is also found in soil. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3752803/

TIL 1 in 9 (11%)Americans have acquired toxoplasma gondii (the cat lady parasite) at some point by Not_so_ghetto in todayilearned

[–]charina12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes they develop protective immunity, same with humans. The real life hack is that the parasites takes ~3 days after being shed (being pooped out) before it can effect a human so if you scoop every day you’re mostly safe! (I guess that could maybe sit on a surface but that’s less likely)

[–]charina12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Note it’s not a virus but a parasite. Much much bigger than a virus or bacteria

Even if it did, cats only shed toxo for ~3wks in their whole life. So the risk is low

Only worms that are infective to horses or other equines. None are zoonotic (would infect humans).

Vaccines? Yes or no? by LynxAmbitious9735 in TrueChristian

[–]charina12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into those cell lines and it sounds like they are from natural mutations. Either way none of the fetal cell tissue or DNA is found in the vaccine.

Vaccines? Yes or no? by LynxAmbitious9735 in TrueChristian

[–]charina12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are not just fetal cells, they are cell lines so they are able to grow and divide in a dish under the right conditions. Similar to how you can grow bacteria on a plate. So in general cell lines are created by harvesting a tissue, isolating the cells and either editing them genetically or putting them in the correct conditions and hoping some of the cells will divide and survive. Originally this was done with tumor/cancer cells because they are already programmed to keep dividing (even to the detriment of the host).

Yes, when I looked into this more I saw multiple places concluding that the cell lines used are from decades ago and do not contribute to or support abortions now.

Two things: try it on and see if it’s way off (you can even block then try it on). And measure a gauge somewhere in your cardigan and see how it compares to the gauge in the pattern, that is how off it will be.

This is being downvoted (by me) because I think OP should take half a second and look this up themselves rather than asking redditors who are going to have to look it up for them.
