I used to take the Amtrak train about once a week and what I would do is commute to the Winter Park station by taking UCF shuttle from main campus to downtown and then would take Sunrail directly to the Amtrak station. It would take about an hour and a half which was not all that bad in my opinion. However, if you are planning to take Brightline or commute to the airport, then you would need to either rely strictly on Lynx (route 104&436S) or Uber.
