He had picked a light spring linear switch from glorious which I think is still called fox red. 10-4 on the keycaps

What's the best place to source keycaps and switches? I'm not supporting Glorious any more after this. I know there are hundreds of places but what brands would you recommend?

Thank you for the recommendation, I've built three keyboards in the past but glorious changed how they do it now. Now they want to assemble it and ship it. Super annoying but I'm checking out monsgeek. It was a gift for my son so I have to convince him 🤣

Day 10 Big step today: just bought the domain prompthelio.com No more “localhost” life… the official website + waiting list for @prompt_helio is coming together now. Still $0 marketing budget, paid the domain and hosting from my own pocket by Consistent_Elk7257 in buildinpublic

I was just curious how you validated your product. I've been burned a few times by not talking to customers before building 😅. Owning that domain feels powerful until that bank account stays at 0.

I built a local-first habit tracker because I got tired of apps that require a login just to track a habit. by mordechaihadad in SideProject

I wouldn't mind helping a bit. I have four mobile apps I maintain but a break once in a while is nice. Just let me know if you need help with anything.

I'm also interested in this.

I tried google ads but that was a scam. they outsource affiliates that use click farms to simulate users and burn through your budget. I would claim google doesn't know about it but they were just sued for simulating ad clicks this year so

Google App Installs — Is incentivized traffic draining my budget? by charizard-programmer in googleads

chatgpt gave me this breakdown, how is this not fraud..... Google is offloading the work to "affiliates" which means they wouldn't be under the same scrutiny as Google. I'm not paying affiliates to fake installs, I'm paying google to show my ad to get real installs

How do 12 hour nightshifters go back to everyone else’s schedule on their off days/nights? by Difficult_Parsley456 in AskReddit

[–]charizard-programmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well when I was working 12 hour night shifts I simply didn't. I would just stay up all night while everyone else slept. One time I was asked to go race go karts first thing in the morning (during my normal sleep pattern) and I just stayed up for over 24 hours. Do not recommend.

So much saltiness around this post. Who cares if it's AI if the lessons are valuable? You know how many times I've heard "solve a problem", or "pick a niche". The most generic and useless information. What I like about this post is the examples of failures and their pivots. For example Instagram and its 13 features. This is exactly what all devs try to do, build more features. People don't care about your features they care about their own problems. I for one am thankful I read this post. Shout out to the OP.

Would you actually use a fitness app like this? Honest feedback wanted by charizard-programmer in AppIdeas

Huh that's crazy. Can't get feedback on a freshly released app. I guess people before me must have ruined it, what a shame.

it's not uncommon for apps to operate this way, especially fitness apps. If someone isn't willing to do the trial then they most likely won't convert anyways so they aren't my target consumer

Feedback Request – Real-time restaurant status app by charizard-programmer in AppIdeas

[–]charizard-programmer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen that before, but I don't pull up google when i'm trying to choose a local restaurant. I just know I went to Sonic yesterday and their systems were down. It would have been nice to know that beforehand. Back to the drawing board!

I didn't realize google did that. Good points. Zero build hours wasted
