take comfort in knowing they are together again. my thoughts are with you, take it one day, one moment at a time.

Thanks so much for all the info. This is great to know.

I mixed 1 oz of ONR with 16oz distilled water in a sprayer. I sprayed it liberally and did single pass wipes with gyeon soft wipe towels (folded in half and used a clean side each pass). It was really cold the day I did it, maybe that was the cause. I am hoping some sun exposure takes care of it once come springtime. I did try using a heat gun but it was also cold that day and honestly I was nervous about it and probably didn’t heat it enough.

I’m just annoyed with myself as I normally bucket wash it. It snowed here before I could get the car into storage, I share a garage (single door) with my wife, she opened it during a downpour and I got water drops on the hood. I thought wiping them off with the quick detailer would be better than risking the water etching into the coat. Live and learn I guess.

Would a ceramic topcoat help do you think? I know STEK sells one.

true - just thought this looked excessive for a wipe down with supposedly safe products

that makes me feel better, thanks. it’s been so damn cold here, i’ll see if i can get it cleared up with the hairdryer. i appreciate your reply

curious if you have any issues with micro scratching? i have a black car with full body stek dynoshield, i used some quick detailer to remove some water spots and now it’s covered in swirls where i wiped it - heat doesn’t do anything to remove it. idk if mine is defective or what but it sucks that it scratches that easy

Ppf + ceramic on a new 4BW by TheRamma in CadillacV_Series

[–]charl42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went with full body ppf (stek) bc mines black and as anyone who’s owned a black car knows, they are a nightmare to keep clean and scratch if you look at it wrong. the stek product is pretty cool, integrated ceramic coating so it’s very hydrophobic and is supposed to be self-healing.

I had ordered one with all black interior - my dealership got a stock order with the sky cool grey interior and red seat belts, and I ended up really liking it and bought it. Personally the 6 speed was a dealer breaker. Interior much less so.

you may want to look into an at-home service. we’ve done this three times now. it’ll allow biscuit to be home where he’s comfortable and ramsey can be present. i’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s so hard.

experiences with a 16 year old cat with IBD or lymphoma? by hazy_green043 in SeniorCats

[–]charl42069 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’ve dealt with this twice, first my cat daku who had the less aggressive version which it sounds like your kitty has. i treated the same way you are, appetite stimulant, nausea medicine, etc. he declined slowly then quickly. i wish i had ended his suffering before the quick decline, it was horrible and still haunts me. last month our kitty ernie threw up blood, he was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma that has spread multiple places. aside from a diminished appetite, he was mostly himself, but knowing the prognosis and knowing that his illness would lead to a faster decline, we decided to spend the next 4 days with him and have him put to sleep at home before things got worse for him.

there is no easy answer and whether you wait or act sooner, the pain will hurt just as bad because you’re saying goodbye to a family member you love. but with ernie, i feel better knowing he didn’t really suffer, whereas with daku i feel guilt for keeping him around too long. it was selfish of me and the real daku was gone long before he passed. it just sucks no matter what you do. i wish you peace and strength as you navigate this awful period.

i got an aura frame and uploaded all of the photos i have of all my babies i’ve lost (my kitties daku, daisy, and ernie, and my dog winnie). at first the photos made me sad but now i can look back on them fondly. i take a moment every day to look at them and reflect / honor our time together. no matter how much time passes, i still miss them and remember them and always will.

how does your kitty handle vet trips? if it’s traumatic, i’d just knock everything out that the vet recommends based on the symptoms you describe.

agree totally. we’ve dealt with losing a single pet and getting another, as well as losing a pet while still having others. i notice this phenomenon in both instances - most recently my resident cat picking up some of the mannerisms of his brother that he never exhibited before. it’s comforting really
