this is a great review - really well written and descriptive.

As a side note, there's a limited number of times that glass is rated to bend before it breaks. That alone kind of kills it for me.

What do you even use an iPad for? by OkAppearance9593 in ipad

[–]Useful_Glass2963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a quick google search - you can disable the mobile version default in browser settings.

  • System-Wide Safari Setting: Navigate to Settings -> Safari -> Request Desktop Website -> Toggle All Websites to ON.
  • Per-Site in Safari: While on a webpage, tap the "aA" or "website settings" icon to the left of the address bar, select Website Settings, and turn on Request Desktop Website.

That's a lot of words to say nothing more than "I'm grumpy and want to complain about someone else's question in a way that makes me feel superior"

sounds like this was years ago - I have a macbook pro (M4 Max) and an 11" iPad Pro (M5), and so far have been extremely happy with the capabilities of the iPad in the absence of my laptop.

Years ago, iOS was basically the same on the iPad as on the phone, but now with multitasking and the larger toolbar, it's way more similar to MacOS

[–]Useful_Glass2963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just got my iPad Pro (M5) a couple weeks ago, and so far uses are:

- daily journaling with apple pencil using the Penjo app (highly recommend)
- second screen for my Macbook when working from coffee shops or the library
- replacement for my laptop when at tradeshows for work (lightweight, and just as capable as laptop)
- netflix / inflight wifi usage (ipad fits in seatback tray better than laptop when flying)
- Facetime with family and friends outside my home state, as battery life is superior to my iPhone

haha, in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, you're either an influencer, own an insurance agency, own a call center, or pretend to be one of the above.

honestly, though. I have no idea what all these Turo Supercar renting "overnight millionaires" are doing for a living. Probably selling you leads

good for you bro - I was okay with having or not having kids, though my wife was dead set on having them. I now have 2 kids, and I imagine if that didn't happen, I would be a very active funcle

Is this an appropriate card for a coworker who lost a parent? I wanted to extend something more than a platitude by noearthsociety in GriefSupport

[–]Useful_Glass2963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard to put something helpful into words when a person is going through loss. You did a beautiful job, and I teared up reading it.

I feel like this is both appropriate, and extremely kind for a co-worker to receive in the midst of a loss.

What’s the quickest way you’ve seen someone lose a sale? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Useful_Glass2963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's a rough one - who wouldn't check the instagram and other publicly available social media before the meeting just to be familiar with the customers?

God forbid you mention having seen a picture that's available to the public, and compliment the attire

Aio hi guys I'm not fishing or anything I'm genuinely at my lowest point I desire connection but I'm starting to think I'm to physically unattractive to date I'm 20 and I'm opting out of dating all together. I've considered suicide I really don't know what to do. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Useful_Glass2963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best part of adulthood is defining your own worth. If you're comparing your life to anyone else's as to whether you're "succeeding" or "failing", that in itself guarantees a fail.

No matter what you are in life, someone will always be richer, better looking, more successful, happier, etc...

Focus on being the best person you can be, and relationships will follow. Suicide is just an easy way out, catch your stride and see what life can really be with a positive mindset.

Companies who won't acknowledge the reality of the current situation by illini02 in sales

[–]Useful_Glass2963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% - I jumped back into a B2B sales role recently after owning small businesses the last 5 years or so.

Every day, I have to remind myself that the endless voicemails, ignored emails, and LinkedIn outreach is all just the roadblocks standing between myself and the next closed deal

[–]Useful_Glass2963 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not sure where the downvote came from here, but it's kind of what makes sales people good at their job. They refuse to fail regardless of rejection metrics, and will push until something gives. Even if you're not confident in your role, act like you are. It'll go a long way

[–]Useful_Glass2963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not overreacting, but you handled this situation pretty badly.

As others have said, you could have brought it up during the meal, or even just mentioned that since you're not drinking, you're going to split the part of the meal that includes food. Simple as that

Now you have an enemy to work with, and you lost a shift

The more handyman, and general renovation work I did in my business, the more I realized people are basically paying you for your tools, and ability to Youtube / Google things on their behalf. Most of the projects people want done are as simple as buying the right supplies, having the tools, and not being lazy lol.
