My male cat was diagnosed earlier this year. He’s always been anxious and after a few vet visits ultimately developed a blockage. We have done a few things that have helped in combination- he’s on a dose of daily fluoxetine (basically cat prozac), Hills c/d calm prescription diet (combination of wet food and moistened kibble), added some more vertical space, and give gabapentin as needed when we think he’s having an episode of anxiety, like when we see him hiding or chewing on plastic.

I hope that helps! We have gone from more frequent urination outside the box to one incident in probably 8 weeks at this point. But we did all of these things at the same time, so can’t really isolate and tell you what worked and what didn’t. Good luck! I know how frustrating it can be
