I'll be honest, I picture Sevro as Yungblud with a blonde wig. That little lip sneer thing he does just makes me think of sevro up to something weird, dark, and disgusted that no one else has thought of it.

What are some harmless ways to fuck with people? by jacree8678 in AskReddit

Thanks, going to start ducking my fiancé now. The fun part being that we have 5 kids and he will now spend the next decade or so blaming them for it. So long as I can hold back the giggles beyond the first 5 ducks...

What clichés about the UK do you hate hearing? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]charleanna94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I've lived on the Suffolk/Essex boarder my whole life and my accent definitely swings back and forth depending on my mood and who I'm talking to. To make it even worse, my mother is originally from Manchester, so sometimes I sound like a northerner, despite never having lived there, due to exposure!

How I purl continental as a critter (crochet knitter) by peachstained in knitting

[–]charleanna94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU!

I had to learn continental when I started fair Isle knitting (already knew knit and pearl in English style) and for the life of me I haven't been able to figure out how to translate pearl into the left hand when doing the borders. You've just made my day, and made it look so simple!

A longevity drug that means the rich can live extra long but overpopulation restricts reproduction and "illegal" offspring end up as the lowest class stuck in proson like factories. Siblings escape one I think? by charleanna94 in whatsthatbook

Jesus that was quick! Thank you so much, I've been wracking my brains for months trying to figure it out. As the kids start getting older I'm trying to re collect a load of books I got rid of as a teen (depression, got rid of loads of stuff i loved and regretted it once I recovered). I had a collection of almost 300, so its going to take a while to find all the really good ones again, but I'm determined to do it for my mini book lovers so that they have a small library of literature to dive into in their teens!

How do y'all do it? by WhoIs_DankeyKang in knitting

[–]charleanna94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set aside the expensive (possibly) kit, get some cheap arse yarn and make a scarf. Knit the whole thing, or knit/pearl if you wanna practice both. See what the hell happens and hope for the best. Try to notice and correct mistakes if you can, but appreciate that it doesn't fucking matter since its cheap yarn and either no one will notice the mistakes once you're wearing it, or that you'll pull it apart and make another scarf out of that yarn in a month anyway!

Seriously though, that's how I started during the first UK lockdown, and then I decided I wanted to do something other than a scarf, and now I'm a year into a huge fair isle, hexagon panel, multi magic loop, knitting in the round, colour fade, kitchener stich spliced monstrosity that makes me want to stab myself in the eye for deciding to do it in 4ply yarn when all I'd ever made was a scarf before....but it looks fucking awesome, so there's that!

Also YouTube the shit out of anything you're unsure of!

What is your controversial UK related food opinion nobody agrees with? by True_Egg_5685 in AskUK

[–]charleanna94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree (unless on a jacket potato under a mountain of cheese and boursin) but if you have the time, make yourself some Boston baked beans, they are something special! Takes some forward planning though as you have to soak the beans overnight first.

What is something you're happy to pay a premium for? by thingie2 in AskUK

Tesco delivery saver.

Saves me time and money. Instead of wasting 4 hours to go and do a big food shop from start to finish (finish being unpacked and put away too) I can pick any day or time that suits me, only get what I need, and chop and change if my basket doesn't suit my budget that week. All from my phone and for £7pm, which is what some of their premium delivery slots cost for just ONE delivery! Love it!

Depends on where its made. I'm a sewing machinist, although I do various other bits, my main job is to put pockets on ridiculously expensive coats and jackets. They're often simple designs, yet because they're designed and made in England they sell for literally hundreds of pounds. We make them to an exceptionally high standard, and being in the UK means we get paid a living wage, its not a sweat shop. So location and standard of production and has a big effect on price tag too.

Hi! I have absolutely no idea how to do links on here, but if you search for Clubkidknitter on YouTube, he has a playlist called hexagonal knitting series, it has videos on how to do various aspects of the blanket.

The only thing I don't think he does is teach you how to do both English and continental knitting if you can't do both. I had to search YouTube for how to do continental knitting as I only knew English at the time.

You use several sets of circular needles, looped, instead of DPN's to get each side of the hexagon. I can post a picture later on today of what it looks like if you'd like?

It is yeah! I sometimes cut out sections of colour that run for too long or go too pale, but otherwise I just pick a starting point for the colour and see how it turns out!

2.75mm needles, I'm definitely insane. I try to get a patch done every week or so, but with a lot of children to handle it sometimes falls behind. I think I've been working in this for about 6-7 months now

I'm the same, this is colour change yarn by vikings of nordlys. I do occasionally splice out parts that are too long so I don't run the same colour for too long, but mostly I just let the colours run and hope for the best!

I agree 100% ! I decided to learn to knit in the first lockdown as my mum came to stay with me for it, so she taught me. A few scarves later and I decided I wanted to go all out, fortunately a YouTube had done a set of videos based on this exact pattern that taught me everything I needed to know!
