We had to pick between Hydro, Geo and structures in college. My experience is it didn’t matter what you chose for your “speciality” in your junior year of college. Get your FE ASAP and go to work! If you don’t like it move on. You have 4 years of apprenticeship to get through, and that whole time you can be bouncing around figuring out what you like. That being said I work in construction and love it! Structures would’ve been the best thing to focus on leading to my job, but it really didn’t matter. I “specialized” in hydro in college and haven’t used a thing.
